(Minghui.org) I am a 71-year-old practitioner who resides in the countryside.
The weather was dry, and there was no rain until the wheat harvest after the spring of 2023. Many people would need to water their wheat fields two or three times. Due to my age, I was reluctant to water the fields that much and only did it once. As a result, my wheat matured earlier than others, so I harvested it early and planted corn.
One day, my husband came back from the field and said to me, “We planted the corn too early and suffered a loss. When others were harvesting wheat and turning their vehicles around, they drove over our field edges. Let’s go and replant some of the corn.” When we went to the field, I saw that after a recent rain, the soil at the edge of our field was compacted and tight from being driven on. I felt resentment and cursed in my mind the people who did it. That curse allowed evil forces to exploit my loophole: My husband was digging holes, and I was planting seeds when suddenly, he accidentally hit my head with a heavy hoe, and I lost consciousness instantly.
After some time I opened my eyes to find myself being held in my husband’s arms. Seeing me awake, he said tearfully, “You scared me to death. Why did you follow so closely? Let’s not replant anymore, we will go home and I will take you to the hospital.”
Despite a large gash on my head and being in tears given the pain, I said, “It’s okay.” He told me, “Your head is really tough. You know how hard I hit you.” I replied, “It’s not that my head is tough; it’s that our compassionate Master saved me. If it weren’t for Master, I would have died.”
Cultivation is very serious. Every thought of a cultivator is of utmost importance, and a single sentence, if not in accordance with the requirements of a cultivator, could bring about a disaster. I am grateful for Master’s compassion for saving my life! Cultivators must take their cultivation seriously.
