(Minghui.org) Easter holidays in England were held from March 29 to April 12, 2024, and as a result, many tourists were near the British Museum in London. Falun Gong practitioners set up display boards on the left side of the entrance to the museum. Many tourists read the information while queuing to get into the museum. They also took photos.
The British Museum has been operating for almost 270 years and is one of the world’s largest museums. It is in central London and has an estimated 800 exhibits and 60 exhibition halls. Every year, it welcomes seven million tourists from all over the world. Falun Gong practitioners have been raising awareness of the ongoing persecution in China for over a decade outside the museum. During the peak summer season, practitioners have information booths at both the front and back entrances. Many people have signed petitions to support ending the human rights abuses in China after learning about what is happening from practitioners. One can often hear passersby shouting: “Falun Dafa is great!”
The British Museum in London is majestic and has a rich collection of exhibits.
A group of Chinese students walked out of the museum. When they saw the words “Quit the CCP and you will be blessed” on the display board a man pointed at the words: “The CCP does not equal China” and said to his friend: “I agree that the CCP does not equal China. This is well said!”
He told the other students: “The CCP deceived us.” His friend patted him on his shoulder expressing agreement with his viewpoint.
Li Renyi who is pursuing a Master's degree in politics had a discussion with a practitioner on the downside of Western democracy after reading the information on display boards. The practitioner explained to him from the perspective of Chinese culture, which talks about harmony between man and heaven. The practitioner told Li that traditional Chinese culture emphasizes the importance of letting nature take its course and ruling with virtue. The CCP promotes battling with heaven and earth, restricts speech, and kills the elite. The democratic system adopted by Western countries and Taiwan gives citizens the power to monitor the government, and consequently, it is not possible to have situations like those in CCP-ruled China where prisons torture people and the government instigates organ harvesting.
Li accepted the practitioner’s suggestion to read the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party and agreed to withdraw his memberships in the Young Pioneers and the Youth League, two communist organizations. Before leaving, Li said, “Thank you for explaining things to me. Take care!”
Chinese passersby read the information on the display boards.
Erica, a chef, and her daughter signed the petition at the booth on Friday, April 12. Erica then called four of her daughter’s friends, who were standing behind them, and asked them to sign the petition too, while explaining things to them.
Erica (third right), her daughter, and friends signed the petition to support ending the persecution of Falun Gong.
Erica said to a practitioner, “You have done well, I know every signature is crucial.” She said she was born in Latvia, a former Soviet country. The Soviet union broke up when she was just a few years old. She knows that communism does not work from her childhood experiences. She was suppressed by the Communist Party before and therefore supported practitioners in opposing tyranny. She criticized the CCP’s crimes against humanity.
Emma, a Russian who works in real estate, often travels between the United States and the U.K. When Emma saw the three words “Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance” she said, “They are unparalleled. I must work hard to follow these principles. I am so busy every day that I don’t have time to quiet down and think about things. These values are great, I must work hard to put them into practice.”
Emma praised the values of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance.
Ace is a teacher. He sympathized with the persecution suffered by practitioners in China and wanted to donate some money to help. He said, “Say no to the CCP. If it doesn’t improve human rights, we will not buy things from it.”
Mike and David, twin brothers, had seen videos on social media where the CCP forced minority groups to change their faith. They both knew that human rights have deteriorated under the CCP’s rule and said they hoped things will change.
Twin brothers: We will help to spread the truth about Falun Gong.
Mike is a quality analyst. He said if more people paid attention to Falun Gong things would take a turn for the better. People will help spread the truth.
Joanne, who is getting her teacher’s certification, and her boyfriend Henry, a building appraiser, were shocked by the CCP’s crimes of genocide. Joanne said, “This is so sad! People don’t talk about this. They don’t know that such a large group is being massacred. This is about us. The CCP is not only targeting ordinary citizens, even well-known people can be silenced, and put on blacklists. This is a huge problem.”
Joanne and Henry criticized the CCP for its crimes.
Henry said, “The CCP has different policies inside and outside. The UK government is aware of what’s happening in China, and the things it covers up and tells lies about. It is terrible!”
Thomas, an engineer from Norway, said people from every country in the world, whoever they are, should have their beliefs respected, because those are their own opinions. This is part of their human rights, and others should not restrict this.
Thomas, a tourist from Norway, says everyone should have freedom of belief.
His girlfriend Elgin said, “I think it is terrible that such things are still happening today!” She said she does not want innocent people to be tortured, and no one should be forced to do forced labor. She said she hopes that everyone can live with dignity and that this disastrous persecution will end soon.
Bore, a software engineer, and his friend were interested in learning more about Falun Gong after they saw practitioners doing the exercises. Bore said, “The persecution must end at once. Everyone should boycott the CCP, everyone should have the right to freedom of belief.”
