(Minghui.org) Hungarian Falun Dafa practitioners were joined by practitioners from Slovakia to celebrate the 25th World Falun Dafa Day in Budapest on May 4, 2024.
Practitioners in Hungary and Slovakia held an activity to celebrate World Falun Dafa Day on May 4, 2024.
In the morning, practitioners studied the teachings of Falun Dafa together, and also talked about their experiences in practicing Falun Dafa.
In the afternoon, practitioners moved to Heroes’ Square in Budapest. They demonstrated the exercises, set up an information booth, and distributed brochures to passersby.
Heroes’ Square is the central square in Budapest, the capital of Hungary. It is a tourist attraction that brings together the region’s history, art, and politics in one central area. The square was crowded with tourists and local visitors, many of whom stopped to watch the practitioners doing the exercises. A number of people talked with practitioners and signed a petition calling on the Hungarian government to formally condemn the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) persecution of Falun Dafa.

People sign the petition to support efforts to bring an end to the ongoing persecution perpetrated by the Chinese regime.
A middle-aged woman and a young man from Poland approached the booth after seeing the posters and the practitioners demonstrating the exercises. Practitioners told them about Falun Dafa and the ongoing persecution by the Chinese regime. They both signed the petition, and the young man said that he works as a doctor and was deeply shaken by what he had heard about the CCP's forced organ harvesting of prisoners of conscience. “It is totally unacceptable that this can happen anywhere in the world. It must stop immediately!” he said.
The couple thanked the practitioners for the informational materials and wished them every success with their event.
A woman from Barcelona, Spain, told a practitioner that she had already heard of Falun Dafa. She then said that she and her friend had watched a documentary at their home about the persecution of Falun Dafa.
She said she was told how Dafa was persecuted, how people started practicing in China, and why the persecution began and how brutal the persecution against Dafa practitioners is.
She added that she and her friend had looked up a petition on the internet condemning the persecution, and both of them had signed.
A Hungarian family of three, from Szentendre, stopped at the practitioners’ booth. After reading the brochure and talking to the practitioners, the parents signed the petition.
The family thanked practitioners for telling them about this horrible persecution. The mother said, “It is a wonderful practice, and it should not be persecuted. We definitely want to help stop the persecution.”
Their daughter, 16, was not yet of legal age to sign. Nonetheless, she was very insistent that she wanted to help bring an end to the persecution.
