(Minghui.org) A 55-year-old Xishui County, Hubei Province resident was arrested on the afternoon of July 9, 2024 after she was reported for talking to three middle school students about Falun Gong, a spiritual discipline also known as Falun Dafa, that has been persecuted by the Chinese communist regime since 1999.

Ms. Zhou Yuerong kept clarifying the facts to the police and urging them not to participate in the persecution. The local detention center refused to admit her and she was released in the evening. Below are the details of what happened on that day.

Ms. Zhou received a call from an unknown number on the morning of July 9, 2024. She dialed back and it was from the Qingquan Town Police Station, asking her to report to them in the afternoon.

Ms. Zhou went there as requested. In a room with over ten police officers, she asked the police chief, “Why did you ask me to come here?”

“You promoted Falun Gong to three middle school students. They took photos of you and reported you.” the police chief said.

Ms. Zhou responded that she didn’t do anything wrong in telling people about Falun Gong and that the communist regime has been spreading slanderous propaganda to incite public hatred against Falun Gong.

The police chief accused her of promoting Falun Gong to them and threatened to detain her for up to two weeks.

Ms. Zhou explained to the police why she has to practice Falun Gong despite the persecution. She said that she once fell from the seventh floor of a construction site, and medical personnel from the ambulance saw little hope for saving her. But by reciting the auspicious phrases, “Falun Dafa is good, Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance is good,” she miraculously survived. She was deeply grateful to Falun Gong and determined to let people know its benefits, instead of believing the communist regime’s hate propaganda against it or following the regime to persecute it.

The police took her to the Xishui County Police Department for another round of interrogation. After that, they took her to the Xishui County Hospital for a physical examination.

When a police officer brought Ms. Zhou to the Xishui County Detention Center, he told the doctor there that she once survived a fall from the seventh floor. The doctor was amazed and refused to admit her. She was taken back to the Qingquan Town Police Station at around 9:30 p.m. and released shortly after.
