(Minghui.org) Falun Dafa practitioners hold group exercises and collect signatures on Dam Square in Amsterdam, the capital of the Netherlands, every Wednesday through Sunday afternoon. They tell tourists from around the world about the persecution of Falun Dafa (also known as Falun Gong) by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and the CCP’s forced organ harvesting.

People Support Practitioners’ Efforts to End the Persecution

A practitioner said that on average, more than 50 tourists sign the petition every day, and sometimes hundreds of signatures are collected on the petition calling for a stop to the CCP’s organ harvesting. People call on the Dutch government to take the necessary legal measures to ban organ transplant tourism to China.

Practitioners also demonstrate the exercises. The melodious music and slow, gentle exercise movements draw locals and tourists to stop and watch, and some learn the exercises.

A Special Scene at the Landmark

The practitioners’ signature-collection site is located near Chinatown and has become a scenic spot in the area.

Dam Square is adjacent to the Central Station and is the starting point of Amsterdam’s first canal and the origin of the city’s name. In 1270, locals built the “Dam” on the Amstel River, and gradually people settled there.

Facing the Falun Dafa practitioners’ practice site is the National Monument, a 22-meter-high white obelisk built in 1956 to commemorate the heroic soldiers who died in Amsterdam during World War II.

Although World War II ended nearly 80 years ago, people continue to be persecuted and their human rights are violated. The CCP has persecuted Falun Dafa since 1999, and even harvests organs from practitioners while they are alive.

A Falun Dafa practitioner who was persecuted by the CCP in China, and lost her job, said that after she began practicing Falun Dafa she understood many principles of life, and she is now healthier. She never gave up her belief in Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance even though she was being persecuted on unfounded charges in China. She is happy to share her experience with people in the Netherlands.
