(Minghui.org) Today’s news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 8 cities or counties in 5 provinces, where at least 9 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
The case against Ms. Fu Xinhua has been submitted to the district procuratorate.
Ms. Zhang Xiuqin was arrested on January 17, 2024 and was later sentenced to six years in prison. She appealed the conviction, but was taken to the Liaoning Province Women’s Prison between August 18 and 21, 2024, after her appeal was denied.
Ms. Lu Cuirong was arrested by officers from the Huangshigang Police Station on August 21, 2024 and taken to the Fenglieshan Lockup that evening.
Ms. Wang Meiying was arrested at home on September 8, 2020 by officers from Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province; Li Pu, head of the Hengshan 610 Office; and other officers from the Hengshan County Police Department. She was sentenced to four years in prison by the Haizhu District Court in Guangzhou City. She is scheduled to be released on September 7, 2024.
Ms. Li Junfei posted several meditation videos on social media in April 2024 and thousands of people watched and liked them. Her social media account was then suspended. Officers from the Wandianzi Police Station went to her home and ordered her not to post Falun Gong-related videos online.
Ms. Li was arrested at home by officers from the Wandianzi Police Station and the Qingyuan County Police Department on July 15, 2024. She has been detained in the Nangou Detention Center since. Her lawyer visited her in the detention center on August 22, 2024 and learned that she was under official arrest. Ms. Li has experienced vision decline while in custody.
Ms. Wang Qunying was reported to the police for talking to people about Falun Gong at a bus station on the morning of July 19, 2024, and was arrested by officers from the Yutan Police Station. She was given seven days of administrative detention.
Two officers from the Chang’an Road Police Station in Beilin District went to Ms. Zhang Xiaoli’s home in mid-July 2024. They threatened Ms. Zhang with her family member’s job or education and pressured her to sign statements to renounce Falun Gong, which she firmly refused. They left after taking some photos of Ms. Zhang.
Prosecutor Li Feng of the Linghai City Procuratorate and Chai Jin, the director of Jincheng Residential Community, went to Ms. Wei Xiuying’s home on August 20, 2024. As she wasn’t home, her husband was forced to sign three forms related to her case.
