(Minghui.org) Today’s news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 12 cities or counties in 8 provinces, where at least 21 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
Five practitioners are scheduled to stand trial at the Weicheng District Court at 9 a.m. on September 29, 2024. They include Ms. Guo Caixia, Ms. Zhang Yujie, Ms. Cao Qingmei, Ms. Xing Xinli, and Ms. Lu Zongqin.
Mr. Cong Wei is scheduled to appear in the Ganjingzi District Court on the afternoon of September 25, 2024. The prosecutors in charge of his case are Yu Zhen and Tang Ming of the Ganjingzi District Procuratorate. The presiding judge is Ni Shengjun.
Three practitioners, including Ms. Li Guifen, Ms. Chen, and a third practitioner whose name isn’t known, were arrested in 2023 for distributing informational materials about Falun Gong. They were released on bail shortly after. They are now facing trial after their case was submitted to the court.
Ms. Yin, first name unknown, a resident of the Automobile Economic and Technological Development Zone, who is in her 60s, has been missing for over three months. Her family suspectes that she was arrested. Her husband is recovering from a stroke and is in a dire situation without her.
Several officers from the Wanzai County Police Department showed up at Ms. Peng Xiaoling’s home at 6 p.m. on August 21, 2024. They ransacked her home and confiscated her Falun Gong books, media player, and some cash. Ms. Peng was taken to the police station for interrogation and then transferred to Yichun City Lockup next day for ten days.
Ms. Guo Yunying was arrested at home at almost the same time as Ms. Peng. She was taken to the police department for interrogation and released later that day.
Mr. Zhao Weidong, 62, was arrested at a community market in Qiujiadian Town of Taishan District on the morning of September 12, 2024. His forehead was injured during the struggle. He previously served a 12-year prison sentence for practicing Falun Gong.
Ms. E Yuzhi, 75, was released from the Liaoning Province Women’s Prison on September 7, 2024, after she finished serving a 14-month term. Officers from the Lagu Police Station harassed her shortly after and demanded that she report to them regularly.
Ms. Huang Wenyu, around 70, was arrested on June 18, 2024, for talking to people about Falun Gong. The arresting officers from the Banzhuyuan Town Police Station also ransacked her home. She has been detained in the Pi County Detention Center for nearly three months.
Ms. Zhang Minzhi was arrested at a practitioner’s home in Dayingzicun Residential Community, by officers from the Sijianfang Police Station in Lyuyuan District on September 4, 2022, when she was staying there to take care of a seriously ill practitioner. The police have since refused to provide any information about her. Her mother had been missing her very much, and passed away in deep agony in mid-July 2024.
Ms. Wei Jie from Changping District was arrested by officers from the Xiaotangshan Police Station on September 5, 2024, for distributing informational materials about Falun Gong. Her home was ransacked, and Falun Gong-related materials were confiscated. She was detained in the Changping Detention Center for seven days and released after developing a physical condition.
Ms. Liu Jinxiang was arrested on May 4, 2024. Her arrest was approved around mid-August 2024. She is now facing trial after her case was submitted to the court.
Frequently harassed at home by officers from the Yuxinnan Police Station in early April 2023, Ms. Deng Xiuying was forced to live away from home to avoid the persecution. Her health condition declined quickly while she was displaced. She passed away on March 10, 2024. She was 79 years old.
Ms. Deng, a former employee of the Fengfeng Power Plant, took up Falun Gong in 1998. After the onset of the persecution in 1999, she was repeatedly arrested and harassed for talking to people about Falun Gong. In addition to harassing her in 2023, officers from the Yuxinnan Police Station also raided her place on July 18, 2022. Due to her high blood pressure, the police didn’t arrest her, but placed her on house arrest.
