(Minghui.org) Ms. He Xianggu, a 63-year-old former nurse from Changsha City, Hunan Province, was arrested at home on May 16, 2021 for practicing Falun Gong, a traditional spiritual discipline that has been persecuted by the Chinese regime since 1999. On July 4, 2021, only one and a half months into her detention at the Changsha City No. 4 Detention Center, the police called her family and said she had fallen into a deep coma. Over three years have passed, and Ms. He remains unconscious.

In the spring of 2023, a person who was held in the same room (Room 102) in the Changsha City No. 4 Detention Center as Ms. He, recounted the torture Ms. He suffered. For a variety of reasons, the information hasn’t been published until now.

“In June 2021, the detention center doctor and four or five guards came to our cell twice every day. As soon as they were there, they ordered all of us to go out, leaving only Ms. He in the cell. We heard her screaming from outside. We peeked into the room and saw the guards holding her down. They force-fed her and then injected her with something. After they were done, we were allowed to go back to the cell.

“Ms. He was force-fed and given shots like this many times. Every time we returned to the cell, she was sitting on a small stool, with both hands holding onto the bed. She also leaned against the bed. When she stood up, she walked very slowly and she also needed support from someone when she used the restroom.

“Later on, the guards didn’t allow us to look into the room during the torture and we could no longer hear Ms. He’s screaming. When we went back to the cell, she was still sitting in the small stool, with her upper body resting on the bed. She needed help from two people while walking and using the restroom. She had no strength and stopped talking. She only nodded or shook her head [to communicate].

“One day, the guards carried Ms. He out. I saw that she couldn’t lift her feet anymore and two guards, one on each side, dragged her forward. She never returned to the cell after that.”

The witness was shocked to learn that Ms. He had become comatose. She said, “She is such a kind person. She is beautiful inside and out. Her heart is very beautiful too.”

According to available information, the director of the detention center back then was surnamed Liao and a guard surnamed Du was in charge of Room 102. Minghui.org is calling for more witnesses to provide information about Ms. He’s torture. 

Prior to her latest arrest, Ms. He was repeatedly targeted over the past two decades for her faith. She was given four labor camp terms and held in psychiatric hospitals three times. She wasn’t allowed to work, and her salary and medical insurance were suspended. Her husband was also forced to divorce her.
