Mr. Hu Dingfang, of Pengzhou City, Sichuan Province, became healthy after he took up Falun Gong. He went shopping with his daughter, Ms. Li Yongxian, also a Falun Gong practitioner, in November 2009, when a group of officers surrounded them. He was shoved and beaten by the police. He fell ill after returning home and became bedridden. The police still harassed him, worsening his condition. He passed away in less than six months.
Mr. Hu’s other daughter, Ms. Li Yongxiu, was arrested in 2004 for practicing Falun Gong. She was held in a brainwashing center and psychiatric hospital, where she was injected with toxic drugs. She suffered systemic edema and lost the ability to care for herself. She died on February 21, 2016.
