(Minghui.org) A Changchun City, Jilin Province, resident, was sentenced to four and a half years in early October 2024 for her faith in Falun Gong, a mind-body practice that has been persecuted by the Chinese Communist Party since July 1999.

Ms. Zhang Ruifeng was arrested at home on April 29, 2024, by officers from the Ziyou Boulevard Police Station. They confiscated her computer, printer, Falun Gong books, and other valuables.

The police kept her at the police station for 17 days and then took her to a local detention center. Ms. Zhang’s family learned about her sentencing only recently. Other details of her prosecution remain unknown. She is currently appealing her wrongful conviction. It is unclear whether she has been transferred to prison.
