(Minghui.org) Today’s news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 3 cities or counties in 8 provinces, where at least 9 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
Ms. Zhang Meiying, 74, was sentenced to eight months and fined 5,000 yuan on September 29, 2025.
Ms. Zhao Junfang was arrested by officers from the Haicheng City Domestic Security Division and Beiguan Police Station while distributing Falun Gong informnational materials on May 28, 2025. The police submitted her case to the Lishan District Procuratorate on July 23 and she was indicted on August 18. She was scheduled to stand trial at the Lishan District Court on October 21, 2025. She developed high blood pressure while being held in the Anshan City First Women’s Detention Center.
Ms. Zhang Yugui, 75, and Ms. Wen Guihua, 68, were arrested on October 11, 2025 while talking to people about Falun Gong. Ms. Zhang was taken to the Huaihua City Detention Center and Ms. Wen to the Xupu County Lockup.
Ms. Feng Suxia was arrested on the morning of October 10, 2025. The police confiscated many of her personal belongings, including her electric bike and clothes. She is being held in the Renqiu City Detention Center and is on a hunger strike.
Ms. Zhang Ying, in her 50s, was arrested on the morning of October 14, 2025, by Qingdao Road Police Station officers. Her home was ransacked. She is now held in a detention center.
Ms. Yang Shumei, in her 50s, was recorded by surveillance cameras while putting up Falun Gong materials. She was followed and arrested by officers from the Lingtou Police Station around October 14, 2025. After taking her to the police station, the police confiscated her cell phone and 300 yuan in paper bills with Falun Gong information printed on them. The officers then took Ms. Yang to her home to search the place, taking away her Falun Gong books and an audio player.
The officers also took Ms. Yang’s husband and son to the police station and ordered them to prevent Ms. Yang from practicing Falun Gong or talking to people about the practice in the future. They threatened to have her son’s employer fire him if they didn’t comply. Ms. Yang was released on residential surveillance after paying a 2,000-yuan fine.
Ms. Feng Lianhua and Ms. Feng Yan were arrested by officers from the Qixia City Domestic Security Division and the Tingkou Police Station on October 5, 2025. They were detained at the Qixia City Lockup for 12 days and have been released.
