(Minghui.org) Today’s news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 6 cities or counties in 5 provinces, where at least 8 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Liquan County, Shaanxi Province] Ms. Li Jing and Ms. Li Xianghong Abused in Prison

Shaanxi Provincial Women’s Prison officials called the family of Ms. Li Jing and Ms. Li Xianghong on February 24, 2025, asking them to visit the two practitioners in prison.

On February 25, the two practitioners’ immediate family went to the prison to meet them. They had become thin due to the persecution. Each of them was monitored by two inmates assigned to watch them around the clock. Ms. Li Xianghong weighed about 90 pounds only and her weight used to be around 130 pounds. All her upper teeth have fallen off. During the visit, two inmates were staying next to each of the practitioners.

2. [Shanghai] Ms. Zhu Yunxiang Monitored

Before the two sessions of the Communist Party of China (when full sessions of the National People’s Congress and the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference were convened in Beijing), elderly Ms. Zhu Yunxiang, in Putuo District, was monitored by plainclothes officers who was staked downstairs of her apartment starting on March 1, 2025.

3. [Yilan Country, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Song Ruixiang Detained

Around January 1, 2025, 73-year-old Ms. Song Ruixiang from Yilan County, Heilongjiang Province, was heading for her son’s home in south China to spend the New Year holiday season. She was stopped by Chezhan Police Station officers at West Harbin Railway Station. Several officers took Ms. Song and a fellow practitioner Zhang, who had come to see her off at the railway station, to the police station and body-searched them. Ms. Song carried two Falun Dafa books and an e-book, which were confiscated. She was detained for a day and a night. Practitioner Zhang was released that night.

4. [Shanghai] Ms. Cai Yufang Monitored

Ms. Cai Yufang from Minhang District has been placed under surveillance and followed since March 1, 2025.

5. [Shulan City, Jilin Province] Ms. Han Yuzhen Sentenced to Prison

Ms. Han Yuzhen was sentenced to one year in prison and fined 2,000 yuan on November 20, 2024. She had planned to appeal to the Jilin Intermediate Court within ten days. However, the Shulan police put pressure on her family to prevent her from filing a notice of appeal in exchange for medical parole.

On February 6, 2025, two officers went to Ms. Han’s home and claimed that she needed a physical examination for medical parole. They took her to the Jilin Hospital for the examination and then took her directly to the Jilin Detention Center. Detention center officials refused to accept her. She went home that same day.

6. [Deyang City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Shen Bin Harassed

Two officers from the Luoshui Police Station in Shifang City and a Luoshui Town government official went to Ms. Shen Bin’s home at 3 p.m. on March 4, 2025. They harassed her and took photos.

7. [Linquan County, Anhui Province] Ms. Yu Zuzhi Sentenced to Prison

Ms. Yu Zuzhi was arrested by officers from Linquan County Domestic Security Division on July 22, 2020, for distributing Falun Gong materials.

On February 3, 2021, she was secretly sentenced to four years in prison and fined 10,000 yuan by Linquan County Court. Given Ms. Yu was over 75 years old and her health condition, the detention center refused to admit her. She was placed under residential surveillance at home on February 8, 2021.

On September 9, 2022, Ms. Yu was coaxed by officer Guo Dong, from the Linquan County Domestic Security Division, into undergoing a physical examination. She was then taken to the Linquan County Detention Center and subsequently to Suzhou Prison.

Ms. Yu was brought home by her family on February 22, 2025.
