(Minghui.org) Ms. Wang Lihua, 72, from Jilin City, Jilin Province, is set to be admitted to the Jilin Province Women’s Prison on April 14, 2025 to serve a one-year term for practicing Falun Gong.

Ms. Wang was initially arrested on June 4, 2023 when she visited another Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Yi Fuying. She developed medical symptoms and was hospitalized for seven days. The police then released her on bail. Ms. Yi was later sentenced to nine years and is now serving time at the Jilin Province Women’s Prison.

Ms. Wang stood trial at the Changyi District Court on May 22, 2024. She was allowed to go home afterwards. Judge Shao Bing later sentenced her to one year in prison at an unknown date.

The Zhanqian Police Station notified Ms. Wang’s daughter on March 3, 2025 that they planned to take her mother for a physical examination the next day. If Ms. Wang was deemed fit for detention, they would take her back into custody.

The checkup results showed a 18-cm cancerous tumor on Ms. Wang’s liver. Since she was also found to have high blood pressure, the doctors advised against surgery to remove the tumor.

The police ignored the results of the medical exam, and took Ms. Wang to the Jilin City Detention Center. The guards declined to admit her after seeing her health reports.

The police had to send Ms. Wang home but they notified her on March 7, 2025 that they were coming on April 14 to take her to Jilin Province Women’s Prison.
