(Minghui.org) Today’s news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 6 cities or counties in 5 provinces, where at least 8 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
Practitioner Wang Xiaofeng was arrested at work on March 6, 2025. The circumstances are unknown.
On March 3, 2025, officers from Yushu City Domestic Security Division arrested Mr. Liu Zhu in Matun Village, Dagushan Town, Yitong County. Against his will, they took photos of him in front of his satellite receiving dish that he used to receive uncensored TV programs.
Ms. Chen Guifen, who lives on Cuihu Road in Pengzhou City, was arrested by two police officers and a community staffer in early March 2025. Her whereabouts are not known.
Zhang Jiayi, a staff member of the Judicial Office of Shijiazhuang Oil Refinery Sub-district Administration Office, called practitioner Bian Junhui on the morning of March 6, 2025, and ordered Bian to go to the police station for a talk that afternoon. Bian did not go.
In the afternoon, Niu Shengda, director of the Sub-district Judicial Office, Party secretary Xu Yan of the sub-district administration office, and Zhang Jiayi made several harassing phone calls to Bian. The police also called Bian’s family on numerous occasions.
Prior to the National People’s Congress and the Chinese People’s Political and Consultative Conference to be convened in Beijing in March 2025, officers from the Huyi District Domestic Security Division and the Renmin Road Police Station harassed Ms. Wan Xiaoyan and Jia Xiaoli in February 2025 and took photos of them.
Mr. Li Qingsheng, 78, was tried by the Shuncheng District Court at his own home on November 14, 2024. The court staffers delivered the verdict to him on December 6, 2024. He was sentenced to two years and fined 2,000 yuan. Due to his poor health, the detention center refused to admit him and he was taken home. The court staffers went to his home again on March 3, 2025, and notified him that they would take him back into custody.
Tongji Town Police Station officers and community personnel in Pengzhou City showed up at Ms. Li Defang’s door on March 3, 2025, and ordered her to turn in her passport. When she tried to reason with them, they twisted her wrist and broke it.
