(Minghui.org) A Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province, resident is serving a 1.5-year term at the Tangshan Prison, Minghui.org learned recently.

Mr. Zhou Yinli, around 70, was arrested on May 28, 2024, while distributing informational materials about the Chinese Communist Party’s ongoing persecution of his faith, Falun Gong. According to insiders, a government official in his 50s reported Mr. Zhou to police.

The arresting officers from the Meihua Town Police Station placed Mr. Zhou in criminal detention at the Gaocheng District Detention Center. The police interrogated him there and ordered him to write statements to renounce Falun Gong. He refused to comply and was later sentenced to one and a half years by the Gaocheng District Court. Other details of his prosecution are unclear. Prior to his latest persecution, he was repeatedly arrested over the years for practicing Falun Gong. He was also fined 2,000 yuan.

Another local Falun Gong practitioner, Mr. Zhang Xiqing, was arrested with Mr. Zhou on May 28, 2024. He was released the next night after he was found to have high blood pressure so the detention center refused to accept him. It is unclear whether he is facing prosecution.
