The Importance of Doing the Falun Dafa Exercises Correctly

(Minghui.org) Falun Dafa practitioners, especially veteran ones, practice the exercises almost every day, so we are familiar with the movements. However, sometimes due to a lack of awareness, our movements may not be correct. I would like to share my recent understanding of sickness karma caused by doing the exercises incorrectly.

I began practicing Falun Dafa in 1998. Once, while we meditated, a practitioner said that my body was curled up like a ball. I didn't pay much attention to it. I thought my movements are generally correct, and I didn’t realize the consequences of doing the exercises incorrectly.

Over the past few years, I’ve intermittently experienced sickness karma, which manifested as a sensation of pressure in my chest. I burp when I pat the area, and the discomfort eases slightly. I also feel a flow of energy moving through my back and shoulders. The pressure becomes so intense sometimes that I struggle to breathe.

I initially attributed this to karmic retribution and continuously examined my mindset for any shortcomings—I also sent forth righteous thoughts to eliminate external disturbances. However, there was little improvement, and it severely impacted my ability to do the three things well.

I kept asking Master to strengthen me because I knew that my state was not right during this last leg of the Fa-rectification period. Master saw I had a sincere heart to return to the right path, so he enlightened me.

One day, I turned on the music for the meditation (I hadn’t used the music while exercising for some time, which was not correct) and I heard Master’s majestic voice: “Sit cross-legged and keep your body upright.” So every time I practiced, I followed the Master’s instructions and kept my body upright. Gradually, the chest tightness and shortness of breath disappeared.

My stomach continued feeling bloated and uncomfortable for no reason every day. Because the discomfort dragged on, I lost weight. I could not eat or drink as it caused discomfort afterward.

While sharing my cultivation experiences with other practitioners, I mentioned that I hadn’t been practicing according to Master’s exercise music, using the excuse that I had to hurry so I could get to work. I would take about 10 minutes to finish the first, third, and fourth exercises.

On the surface, it’s because I have to go to work, so at least I manage to do the exercises every day. The reality was that it was laziness and a lack of commitment interfering. Fellow practitioners strongly suggested that I follow the music, be attentive, and persevere in exercising. When I began to exercise with a calm mind and strictly follow Master’s instructions, all my discomfort went away. Master rectified my body again!

The wonder of Dafa is beyond words. If other practitioners have similar sickness karma like I did, you might want to check how you do the exercise movements and try to meet the standard. At least practice diligently according to the exercise music given to us by Master so that your body will be corrected and truly achieve the effect of transformation.
