(Minghui.org) Today’s news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 5 cities or counties in 3 provinces, where at least 9 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
Ms. Shang Jinyan from Huangshigang District was arrested by the Huahu Police Station on August 25, 2024. She was held in Ezhou City First Detention Center. She was sentenced to three years in prison at an unknown time and has been admitted to the Hubei Province Women’s Prison in the capital city of Wuhan.
Ms. Li Caihua, Ms. Li Ping, and Ms. Wang Chunhong were arrested by officers from Liurenba Town in Daye City on December 25, 2024. They were detained for 15 days in Daye City Lockup and then transferred to Huangshi City First Detention Center on January 9, 2025. The police have submitted their cases to the Daya City Procuratorate.
Mr. Li Yuchuan was arrested on the afternoon of June 9, 2025, by Paoliang Township Domestic Security Division in Chicheng County. The officers ransacked his home and confiscated photos of the founder of Falun Gong, a desk calendar, and two New Year decoration pictures. Mr. Li was taken to Chicheng County Detention Center for 15 days.
Ms. Wang Xiaoshu was arrested near the entrance of Xiong County Middle School on the morning of June 16, 2025. Her home was ransacked and she was given a 13-day detention.
Mr. Wu Junru from Linghai City, a county-level city under the jurisdiction of Jinzhou City, was arrested on June 3, 2025. He was released later that day.
Mr. Chi Enhong, 76, from Shenhe District was arrested on the afternoon of April 16, 2025, while distributing informational materials about Falun Gong. The police handcuffed him and took him home for a search. His laptop, a printer, and Falun Gong materials were confiscated. After the raid, the police took both Mr. Chi and his wife, Ms. Zhang Yuqing, 75, to the Binhe Police Station.
Mr. Chi was admitted to the Fangjialan Detention Center in Shenhe District the day after his arrest. He has been indicted and is now facing trial by the Dadong District Court. Ms. Zhang was denied admission to the detention center and released on bail. It’s not clear whether she is also facing prosecution.
