What We Can Learn from Newton’s Manuscripts

June 28, 2025 |   By Wen Yiming

(Minghui.org) Isaac Newton is considered one of the greatest physicists and mathematicians of all time, but few know that he also contributed to Biblical studies and prophecies and investigated ancient cultures. In fact, historians found that Newton left more writings in these areas than in conventional scientific research. They also believe Newton applied the same level of, if not more, diligence to these studies than he did to his scientific research.

Auctioned in 1936, Newton’s writings–totaling about one million words–later went to the National Library of Israel in Jerusalem and King’s College in Cambridge. A digital version of his manuscripts was also made available for the general public to access.

According to Stephen David Snobelen and other scholars, Newton predicted the world would undergo a major change in the 21st century. Despite apocalyptic interpretations by popular media, Snobelen argued Newton refers to this as the beginning of a new era–an era the Jewish faith refers to as the Messianic age of universal peace and brotherhood.

The End of a Thousand Years

Many of Newton’s prophecies were based on the Book of Revelation. Newton wrote that in the Old Testament, it is foretold that God would return and that one of the signs is the restoration of Israel.

After the Siege of Jerusalem in 70 CE, there were a series of Jewish-Roman wars, and Jews were expelled from the areas surrounding Jerusalem (the Siege of Jerusalem). Centuries later, the State of Israel was established in 1948. It’s worth noting the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) took power one year later, in 1949.

Some associate the establishment of the CCP to the nightmare predicted in Revelation 20: “And when the thousand years are expired, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison, And shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, Gog, and Magog, to gather them together to battle: the number of whom is as the sand of the sea.”

Chiang Kai-shek, head of the Republic of China, spent decades fighting the CCP and communism. In a 1961 article titled “Communist Party is the Biggest Enemy of Mankind,” he wrote, “We should calm down and ask ourselves: are we facing the time when the thousand years was over as the Bible described?… Bible scholars agree that once Satan is released from prison, he may be extremely powerful. Communism, the embodiment of Satan, not only fights against God, but also deliberately plays tricks on God.”

Chiang pointed out that following the CCP would lead people on a path of no return. “Any attempts of working with the CCP will make people fall in its trap, or equates to inviting robbers to your home. If the free world goes this way, it will not only be unable to rebuild the land of God; instead it is go down a path of self-destruction.”

The Rise of the CCP

But these warnings were largely ignored. Eleven years after Chiang published this article, U.S. president Richard Nixon visited China. U.S.-China diplomatic relations were then established in 1979.

When the Soviet Union and the Eastern Communist Bloc collapsed in 1989, the Western world declared a major victory and did not consider the CCP to be a threat. With the help of Western countries, especially the United States, communist China entered the WTO in 2001 and grew at an unprecedented speed.

All this contributed to the CCP’s domination today. As the world’s second largest economy and the largest exporter of goods, China filled the world with cheap merchandise. In the meantime, it deeply infiltrated the free world with communist ideology through its Confucius Institutes, propaganda in the form of newspaper advertisements, and most recently social media.

CCP leaders launched a comprehensive invasion of the West through money, media, and lust. Looking back in history, one may find the Soviet Union was merely a preparatory step in Satan’s plan, while the CCP is the chosen entity that would take over the world.

The Blood of Saints

The Book of Revelation tells us:

“And there appeared another wonder in heaven; and behold a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads.

“And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth…

“For all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, and the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth are waxed rich through the abundance of her delicacies.

“And I saw the woman drunken with the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus...”

“The great red dragon,” “that old serpent,” “Satan,” and “the woman” may refer to the CCP. Communists often use a red star as their symbol, and the star has 10 edges; the top standing committee of CCP’s politburo has 7 members. These correspond to the description in The Book of Revelation.

Traditional Chinese culture venerated the divine, and Chinese people believed that mankind came from the divine. Since taking power in 1949, however, the CCP destroyed traditional culture and slaughtered over 80 million people, as laid out by the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party.

Western society largely ignored these tragedies—including the Tiananmen Massacre in 1989 and the persecution of Falun Gong, which began in July 1999. At least tens of thousands of practitioners have been arrested for their faith and for following the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. Many were tortured and taken to labor camps or prisons. Over 5,000 deaths caused by the persecution have been confirmed by Minghui.org, and an unknown number of practitioners have lost their lives to the CCP’s forced organ harvesting.

Many governments and Western news outlets ignore these severe human rights abuses due to financial interests. As the Book of Revelation says, “... all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication... and the merchants of the earth are waxed rich through the abundance of her delicacies.”

China Before Communism

Revelation 19 tells us about divine intervention:

“And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war.

“His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself.

“And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God.

“And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean.

“And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, King Of Kings, And Lord Of Lords.”

To many in Western society, a white horse usually represents purity, power, and a divine connection. Caesar entered Rome in a chariot drawn by a team of white horses; the Roman Emperor Constantine the Great wore ornate armor and rode a white horse during battles; George Washington often rode white horses, and he rode in a carriage pulled by six white horses during his first presidential inauguration.

Shen Yun Performing Arts, based in New York with a mission of reviving traditional Chinese culture, shows the Creator in a chariot pulled by white horses. He leads divine beings to Earth and guides them to establish mankind’s civilizations. The show depicts Chinese culture before it was destroyed by communism.

The CCP cannot tolerate Shen Yun. It has instigated more than a hundred threats of bombings and mass shootings at theaters that host Shen Yun shows. The CCP has also launched a media war and filed a series of lawsuits against Shen Yun outside of China. The New York Times alone has published 12 articles defaming Shen Yun with false accusations.

Our Choice

Some people may feel that these events have nothing to do with them. Others may think human rights violations only occur in communist China. But these events are connected and unfolding in front of our eyes.

The CCP’s persecution of Falun Gong continues after 26 years. Many governments are aware of this genocide, but look the other way due to economic and political interests. This is the dire situation referred to in the prophecies above.

Fortunately, some courageous people have stepped forward, including the independent people’s tribunal in the United Kingdom that investigated forced organ harvesting, as well as a portion of elected officials in the United States and Canada. For example, the Falun Gong Protection Act was passed in the U.S. House of Representatives and is awaiting passage by the Senate.

The Book of Revelation also describes the Final Judgment. What’s unfolding before us may well be opportunities for each of us to show what kind of people we are before the final moment arrives. Depending on each person’s role in society, the choices one makes in response to the CCP’s crimes will not only decide one’s own fate but also impact the people they’re responsible for, including their families, readers, viewers, and even countrymen.
