(Minghui.org) Jason Smith, a member of the U.S. House of Representatives from Missouri, recently wrote to a local practitioner criticizing the persecution of Falun Gong by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), including forced organ harvesting. He said he fully supports practitioners’ efforts to expose the CCP’s ruthless suppression. He also reaffirmed his commitment to human rights and freedom of belief.

Full text of the letter:
“As we mark the 26th anniversary of the ongoing persecution, I write to express my unwavering support for your efforts to shine light on the cruel and unjust actions of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) against practitioners of Falun Gong. Together, our shared goal is to end the CCP’s persecution of religious and ethnic minorities in the People’s Republic of China and to speak on the shared common values of freedom, liberty, and human rights.
“The systematic harvesting of organs from unwilling prisoners, sanctioned by the CCP, stand as one of the most appalling acts violating human rights and religious freedom. Falun Gong practitioners have courageously spoken out against the abuses endured under CCP oppression for years. Meeting Missourians who shared their stories of suffering and resilience has reinforced my commitment to support efforts urging China to end forced organ harvesting.
“On this significant anniversary, I commend your unwavering resolve and advocacy in exposing the CCP’s human rights abuses and raising global awareness. The courage shown by your efforts in confronting these injustice is crucial in defending fundamental freedoms. Religious freedom, a cornerstone of our liberties in the United States, sadly remains beyond the grasp of countless individuals worldwide who continue to face persecution and oppression everyday.
“I will continue to stand in solidarity with you in your fight against persecution, and I give my full support to your efforts to shine a light on the egregious violations of human rights carried out by the CCP. You can rest assured that I will not stop in my efforts to support human rights and religious freedom for all while serving in Congress.
Sincerely,
Jason SmithMember of Congress”
