(Minghui.org) During an event in Brussels on September 8, 2025 practitioners told people about the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) persecution of Falun Dafa and state-sanctioned forced organ harvesting. Many passersby stopped to read the banners and signed the petition to end the human rights abuses.
People learn about the persecution during the event on September 8, 2025.
People learn about the CCP’s persecution.
Giancarlo Astorg, a dentist from Sweden who now lives in Brussels, signed the petition and said, “I’ve known about this since I was about 15, and now I’m 34.” He added, “When I attended school in Sweden I learned about China’s persecution of Falun Dafa. I learned about forced organ harvesting, which is an atrocity. We must take action against it.”
As a Christian, Geancarlo is particularly concerned about religious freedom and believes signing the petition is an important way to express his stance, “I know that Christians are also persecuted. Falun Dafa practitioners just want to be good people, but they are suppressed. This shouldn’t happen.”
Speaking of Falun Dafa’s principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance, he agreed: “They are excellent principles. Staying truthful, not lying, not harming others, and allowing everyone to experience kindness in life is what humanity should pursue.”
People sign the petition calling to end the persecution.
Anne-Sophie is a second-year nursing student at the University of Applied Sciences UCLL. She first learned about the CCP’s persecution of Falun Dafa practitioners, including the non-consensual organ harvesting and profiteering, in school. She said, “I was outraged. It’s morally unacceptable and deeply regrettable for the Chinese people.”
She added, “The teacher told us that some people were imprisoned for practicing Falun Dafa, and then their organs were harvested and sold. These people’s lives were taken away!”
She also noted that it was regrettable that almost no one in the media or society discusses the persecution. “It’s so bizarre.
“This must be reported in the news so that people know about it. Because when people know about it, they will know what is right. Every country should pay attention to this matter. If everyone knows about it, then they [the CCP] will not dare to do whatever they want,” she said.
After watching the exercise demonstration and learning about the persecution, Glenn signed the petition without hesitation to condemn China’s illegal organ harvesting. “Even if someone has done bad things, their organs shouldn’t be illegally harvested, let alone a good person,” Glenn said. “If they kill people for their organs, it’s truly horrific.” Faced with such serious human rights violations, Glenn said, “Stopping the persecution can’t be put off until later. This involves human lives that can be taken in an instant. We can’t wait.”
He told practitioners that he would spread the information through social media to let more people know about the issue.
After signing the petition Zaina was shocked to learn that forced organ harvesting is state-sponsored in China. She said, “I signed the petition to oppose the persecution. This is inhumane and must be stopped.”
She said organ trafficking has been going on in China for years, but there’s little coverage in the media and business community. “Many people are completely unaware that this is happening. We hope the government knows that many people oppose this persecution and organ harvesting. I’ll ask my friends to sign.”
Nicolas, a law student currently working as a legal consultant, spoke with practitioners to learn more about Falun Dafa and the persecution, and signed the petition. He said that he knew almost nothing about Falun Dafa before and was deeply dismayed by the forced organ harvesting.
“This is a humanitarian disaster,” he said. “It’s unbelievable that such a thing could happen in a modern country. These people simply want to be better people, yet they are being brutally persecuted. This must stop.”
He pointed out the importance of spreading the information: “We were completely unaware that these things were happening. The business community and mainstream media remained virtually silent, and this silence itself is a form of complicity. Educating people about the truth is a way to bring about change.”
Nicolas said that the event was not only a call for peace, but also a form of social education. He said he would share the information with his family and friends and to continue to pay attention to this issue.
Arbourn watched practitioners demonstrating the exercises, and read the display boards. He said he was shocked at the CCP’s atrocities: “This is horrific. If this is true, it must be stopped.
“This isn’t a political issue, it’s a humanitarian issue,” he said. “Every country has its own system, but if people are killed for their beliefs, it’s a problem for all of humanity.”
Caroline and Federica watched the exercise demonstrations and read the information and expressed their support for practitioners. “I’ve never heard of Falun Dafa before, and this is my first time learning about it,” Caroline said. “They’re calling for an end to the persecution, which has gone on for 26 years. It’s really shocking.” She added, “So many people are being detained, it’s horrific. People are being killed just for their organs, it’s really unacceptable.”
Federica recalled a Falun Dafa parade she saw in front of the Peace Palace in The Hague, Netherlands a few years ago: “They meditated quietly and peacefully. I think they are very brave, supporting the oppressed people in China in this way.” She said she strongly agrees with the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance, “They are beautiful concepts, but what’s more important is to demonstrate them through action. Everyone should be free to be themselves and should not be oppressed.”
