(Minghui.org) Today’s news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 15 cities or counties in 10 provinces, where at least 45 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Nineteen Practitioners Arrested

Nineteen practitioners, including Sui Hua, Bai Xue, Li Zhongxiao, Mr. Zhang, and Wang, were arrested on August 14, 2025, ahead of the Chinese Communist Party’s military parade on September 3.

The arresting officers came from Tiexi District Domestic Security Division, Gongrencun Police Station, Zhonggong Police Station, and Xinghua Police Station. The practitioners are held either in Shenyang City Lockup or Shenyang City Detention Center.

2. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Qu Fengyan’s Case Turned Over to the Procuratorate

Ms. Qu Fengyan was reported to the police while distributing Falun Gong materials near Changchun Cultural Square on July 17, 2025. She and her non-practitioner husband were arrested on July 24 by Qinghe Police Station officers. The officers broke into their home and confiscated all Falun Gong books. Ms. Qu’s husband was released shortly after. She has been held in Erdao District Detention Center and denied visits with her family. She is now facing indictment after the police submitted her case to the Chaoyang District Procuratorate.

3. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Zhang Guozhen Missing for Five Months and Counting

Ms. Zhang Guozhen went missing in April 2025, and her whereabouts remain unknown.

4. [Kunming City, Yunnan Province] Ms. Bi Jinmei Taken to Prison

Ms. Bi Jinmei was arrested on January 11, 2025. She was later sentenced to three and a half years in prison by Xishan District Court. She appealed with the Kunming City Intermediate Court, while ruled to uphold the original verdict. She was admitted to the Yunnan Province Second Women’s Prison on August 21.

5. [Chengde City, Hebei Province] Five Practitioners Arrested

It was reported that Mr. Zhang Guochen, Ms. Piao Guiping, Sun, Zhan, and another practitioner whose name wasn’t known, were arrested at their homes on August 21, 2025. The officers confiscated their Falun Gong books, photos of the founder of Falun Gong, and other items. Mr. Zhang was released on August 23. The other practitioners were taken to Shuangfengsi Detention Center.

6. [Yushu County, Jilin Province] Ms. Liu Liping Arrested

Ms. Liu Liping’s husband had cancer. His condition improved significantly after he and his wife started practicing Falun Gong. Ms. Liu was arrested at home one day by four Bahao Township Police Station officers, who suddenly broke in. Her husband was so frightened that he dared not continue practicing Falun Gong. His condition worsened day by day. Shortly after Ms. Liu was released, the officers again barged into her home to harass her. Terrified by the police, her husband passed away four hours after the police left.

In addition, Zhou Xifu was often harassed by local police, who took photos at Zhou’s home and rummaged through things. They have disrupted the family’s daily life.

7. [Huarong County, Hunan Province] Ms. Zhong Xiping Not Accepted at Lockup Center; Ms. Yang Ziyun Detained

Ms. Zhong Xiping was arrested at home at noon on August 28, 2025. The police initially pretended to be residential committee members. When she refused to let them in, they pried open her door. She was taken to a police department for interrogation and then to a hospital for physical exam. Due to her high blood pressure, she wasn’t admitted to the lock-up and released in the evening. The police raided her home when they took her back at around 8 p.m. Her complete set of Falun Gong books, two laptops, an audio player, a USB flash drive, and a “Falun Dafa is good” wall sticker were confiscated.

In addition, another practitioner, Ms. Yang Ziyun, was arrested and given ten days of detention.

8. [Jinyun County, Zhejiang Province] Ms. Zhu Manxian Arrested

Ms. Zhu Manxian was arrested in late August 2025 and taken to the Xiaoyun Brainwashing Center.

9. [Gaotang County, Shandong Province] 84-Year-Old Ms. Jin Guizhi Missing

Ms. Jin Guizhi, 84, was harassed at home on August 28, 2025 by someone from Gaotang County Administration Office. Her home was ransacked the next day and her family have lost contact with her since.

10. [Benxi City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Fan Wei Arrested

Mr. Fan Wei was arrested on August 20, 2025 by Dongming Police Station officers, after being reported for putting up Falun Gong materials. He is being held in Benxi City Detention Center.

11. [Mengyin County, Shandong Province] Mr. Song Bingkui Arrested

Mr. Song Bingkui was arrested at home at around 7:30 a.m. on August 20, 2025. The five plainclothes officers from Mengyin County Police Department broke in and confiscated her Falun Gong books, photos of the founder of Falun Gong, a small speaker, and a dozen copies of Minghui Weekly. Mr. Song was taken to the police department. His son-in-law received a call around 5 p.m. ordering him to pick up Mr. Song and pay 1,000 yuan fine. The police also gave Mr. Song a ten-day detention, but wouldn’t enforce it.

12. [Dehui City, Jilin Province] Ms. Sun Yuxia Held in Custody

Ms. Sun Yuxia was arrested at home on August 28, 2025. The police broke in and confiscated her Falun Gong books and a computer. She is being held in Changchun City Detention Center.

13. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Sun Lijie Arrested

Police officers went to knock on Ms. Sun Lijie’s door around 8 a.m. on August 31, 2025. No one answered the door. Around 5 p.m. as she was walking downstairs at her apartment building, two plainclothes officers stopped her. They searched her home and took her to the police station. They checked her phone and interrogated her. She has been released.

14. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Li Zhongxiao Detained for 15 Days

Mr. Li Zhongxiao was arrested on August 14, 2025. He has been released on August 30.

15. [Tianshui City, Gansu Province] Ms. Zhou Yuezhen Released After Serving 3.5 Years

Ms. Zhou Yuezhen was arrested on November 20, 2021 and later sentenced to three and a half years. She was released from the Gansu Province Women’s Prison on May 19, 2025.

16. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Four Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Niu Guifang, Ms. Niu Guihua, Ms. Ren Xiuqin, and Ms. Zhou Yanli were arrested on August 27, 2025. The police wore plainclothes during the arrests. They snatched keys from the practitioners’ family members in the hallway and broke in. After entering the rooms, they handcuffed the practitioners and confiscated their Falun Gong books and photos of the founder of Falun Gong. Two practitioners were taken to Shenyang City First Detention Center, and the other two were held in a lockup.

17. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Liu Shuzhen Arrested

Ms. Liu Shuzhen, 77, from Acheng District was arrested at home on August 21, 2025, by Ashihe Police Station officers. The officers ransacked her home and confiscated Falun Gong books, a computer, and a cell phone. Ms. Liu’s systolic blood pressure reached 240 mmHg that day, and she was admitted to the Harbin Public Security Hospital.

18. [Jinchang City, Gansu Province] Ms. Liu Zhiping Harassed

Ms. Liu Zhiping was followed by two plainclothes officers when she was on her way home at 9 p.m. on August 24, 2025. When her husband opened the door for her, the officers barged in from behind. They attempted to take Ms. Liu to the police station to collect her fingerprints and DNA sample. It’s not clear whether Ms. Liu went with them.

19. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Mr. Wang Changzheng’s Case Returned to Police

Mr. Wang Changzheng was arrested on March 31, 2025. He was given 15 days at the Jinghe Lockup the next day. The police transferred him to the Jinghe Detention Center on April 16 on criminal detention. They submitted his case to the Dongxihu District Procuratorate on April 23, which approved his arrest on April 30. He was transferred to the Hanyang District Detention Center in mid-July 2025 and his case was also moved to the Hanyang District Procuratorate. The prosecutor returned his case to the Dongxihu District Police Department in late August 2025.
