(Minghui.org) Practitioners in northern and central Italy held numerous events from late August to early September to tell people about Falun Dafa and expose the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) persecution of Falun Dafa practitioners.

Bologna

Practitioners set up a display on August 27 in Bologna. Home to the oldest university in continuous operation, the University of Bologna was founded in 1088. Despite the rain, practitioners set up a table at Piazzetta Giorgio Guazzaloca near Piazza Maggiore. They displayed posters, demonstrated the exercises and told people about Falun Dafa.

An important agricultural, industrial, financial and transport hub, Bologna attracts numerous tourists. Both residents and visitors were glad to learn about Falun Dafa.

Two police officers asked practitioners what Falun Dafa is and if they encountered any interference from pro-CCP agents. Practitioners explained the benefits of practicing Falun Dafa and how it has been persecuted in China for 26 years by the CCP. When they were told about the previous harassment from pro-CCP agents, the officers said they would provide assistance if needed and wished the practitioners success in their event.

The owner of a nearby store saw the posters and chatted with practitioners. He asked why such a peaceful meditation practice would be so intensely persecuted. Practitioners explained that the CCP’s communist ideology contradicts traditional values that Falun Dafa represents, such as the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. The man thanked practitioners and took information about Falun Dafa and the persecution.

Frascati

Practitioners held an event on August 30 in Frascati, a city southeast of Rome. The historic area is an art center and has been a popular destination for tourists and Roman residents since ancient times.

Practitioners set up a booth at St. Peter’s Square in the city center and demonstrated the Falun Dafa exercises. Many people stopped to watch, read the posters, and learn how practitioners are mistreated in China for their faith. After chatting with practitioners and reading pamphlets, many people said they hope the persecution will end soon.

Mestre

Practitioners also held an event in Mestre near Venice on September 6 to introduce Falun Dafa at the Piazza Mattera in the city center.

Seeing the exercise demonstration next to the colorful banners and posters, many people stopped to read. After talking with practitioners, some signed petitions and encouraged them to keep up their efforts.
