(Minghui.org) I started practicing Falun Dafa in 1997. I had lived an unhappy life since I was young and experienced many hardships. As a result, I was introverted and felt things were unfair. I used to suffer from Hepatitis B and was on medication for a long time, but the medication didn’t help much. I also suffered from constipation and back pain. After I started to practice Falun Dafa, my health and xinxing improved a great deal. All my ailments disappeared, and I haven’t taken any medications for almost 28 years.
I behave according to the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance at work. My manager really trusts me. Falun Dafa has improved my realm of thought and my moral standards. I have gradually become selfless, even though I used to be selfish.
I’d like to share a few amazing stories I have experienced in my cultivation.
I was the finished products custodian for my company in 1998. One day a young man came to get goods from my warehouse. When I wasn’t paying attention, he stole the warehouse dispatch list, went to the cashier, and used the list to get his money back. The cashier came to check with me after the young man left. I told the cashier that he had taken the goods. Only then did I find out that he had stolen the dispatch list. I thought of what it said in the Fa teaching about no loss, no gain. I was calm and told the cashier that I would pay the money back because it was my fault. The cashier said that she was also responsible because she didn’t check with me before she gave him the money. She said that she knew this man and would try to get the money back. I didn’t let it worry me, thinking that I would just follow the course of nature. But I felt that there was not much chance that she could get the money back from him.
My monthly salary was 350 yuan (USD$49) at that time. I thought that I would still be able to make ends meet for that month if I gave the cashier 250 yuan (USD$35). Maybe I owed him something from a past life and he had come to collect the debt in this lifetime. My husband also practices Falun Dafa. I told him about the incident in the evening and felt that my xinxing had improved.
The next day the cashier told me that she had indeed managed to get the money back from the young man with the help of his family member. I felt relieved. As a practitioner, as long as I take things lightly and follow the course of nature, I will not lose anything if the thing is indeed mine.
My company’s staff housing hadn’t been completed when the persecution of Falun Gong started in 1999, but the apartments had been allocated and notarized. We had bought an apartment with all of our savings plus a few thousand yuan in loans. At that time, a few thousand yuan was equal to all of our annual income. My company leaders threatened to withhold our apartment if we continued practicing Falun Dafa. I told them that they could take it if they wanted it. They were very surprised by my answer.
I believed that they would not give me the apartment, and I was not concerned by it. I felt that cultivation in Falun Dafa was the most important thing in my life and nothing could surpass it. My husband and I later went to Beijing to appeal for justice for Falun Dafa. We wrote resignation letters before we left. Our immediate manager had never interfered with our cultivation. We didn’t want him to be burdened by our issues.
After I came back from Beijing, my manager came to see me at home and asked why I wasn’t at work. When I told him that I had resigned, he said, “My supervisor tried to force me to sign your resignation letter, but I refused. I told him that I couldn’t find such a good employee elsewhere and that I didn’t have any reason to fire you.” I was very touched and happy for him that he had sought justice for me and chosen a good future for himself, so I returned to work.
When the staff housing was completed, we thought that we weren’t getting our apartment and didn’t make any inquiries about it. But then I ran into a coworker on the street one day, who said, “Your husband and you really take things lightly. The housing has been completed and furnished. Don’t you want to see it?” I said, “Do we still have an apartment? I thought they wouldn’t give it to us.” She said, “Of course you do. You paid for it.” We went to see the apartment. Sure enough, we had one. The only difference was that it was on a higher story. We moved in without any problems.
Cultivation is miraculous. Master requires us to let go of human attachments and notions. When we indeed act in accordance with the Fa’s requirements, we lose nothing. The only things we lose are our human attachments. We truly experienced the feeling of:
““After passing the shady willow trees, there will be bright flowers and another village ahead!”” (Lecture Nine, Zhuan Falun)
I was involved in a project to copy CDs with another practitioner in 2003. Our cultivation state was good at that time, and we sent forth righteous thoughts almost 20 times every day. We made certain that we studied the Fa every day. While we were burning CDs, we either studied the Fa or sent forth righteous thoughts. We tried to keep ourselves in a pure cultivation state.
We didn’t know much about computers and had only learned a few steps so that we could burn the CDs. We used a computer with two CD drives but could only copy one CD at a time. It took us a long time to copy 100 CDs. It was a hot summer and we didn’t know that the computer fan was broken, because the computer worked as normal. We simply studied the Fa and sent forth righteous thoughts in between copying the CDs.
One day the tech support practitioner came to see us. He was very surprised when he checked our computer. He said, “The computer fan is broken. You are copying CDs in the heat of summer. The motherboard should have burned after working such long hours copying CDs, but your computer still works. It is truly miraculous!” We were happy to hear that. We felt that, because we were aligned with the Fa, Master had helped us. Thank you, Master!
I have experienced many amazing things during my cultivation journey over the past 20 plus years. When I am in line with the Fa requirements, the power of Falun Dafa manifests before me.
