(Minghui.org) The Art of Zhen Shan Ren exhibition was held in Belgium, from December 12, 2025 to January 11, 2026. The exhibition was located in I’ILOT Saint-Michel beside the renowned Place Saint-Lambert in the city of Liège. The pieces on display were created by artists who practice Falun Dafa. The artists demonstrated their understanding of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance and the meaning of life through their work, and showcased the perseverance and compassion of practitioners who are persecuted by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP).

Many visitors viewed the paintings and were moved by how the practitioners upheld their belief while exposing the persecution. One person said, “It’s a story about goodness, about spiritual practice, and about the power of maintaining inner purity even in the midst of suffering.” Some people bought Falun Dafa books titled Zhuan Falun and Falun Gong. More than 1,000 people signed a petition calling to stop the persecution.

The Spirituality of the Paintings

Bernadette has worked in art restoration and painting for many years. She lingered in the exhibition hall for a long time, examining every painting in detail. Her expression was focused and deeply moved. She occasionally pointed at a painting and discussed it in a low voice with her friends.

“This is a fantastic exhibition, I really enjoyed it,” Bernadette said. “You can feel a strong sense of spirituality in every painting.” She added that the exhibition moved her not only on an artistic level, but also on a spiritual one, “These works offer a very insightful interpretation of religion and the spiritual world. Each painting conveys something profound, allowing you to calm down and truly experience it.”

She said the main message conveyed by the exhibition was very clear, “They want people to change, to change their way of thinking, to become more peaceful, to love others, to share, and to make an effort to achieve this. Nothing will change without effort.”

Exposing the Persecution of Faith

Arthur Traska shared his insights while viewing the paintings and the profound impact they had on him in terms of faith, humanity, and philosophy.

He said that he was impressed with the techniques presented in the early works. “In some of the works, the hands or objects in the paintings seem to be reaching out from the canvas, and this use of spatial depth is very captivating. I really appreciate this,” Arthur said, adding that he was particularly impressed by a work depicting the same figure at different levels of existence, “The Pure Path to Immortality.” He was impressed with the multiple states of the figure in the painting.

He was stunned by the painting “The Organ Harvesting,” which depicted a surgeon removing a practitioner’s heart while he’s alive. Arthur said the painting exposes the forced organ harvesting, “The painting is quite disturbing.”

After learning about the background of the painting, he said that although some religions have experienced persecution, “It is shocking that a regime systemically persecutes a religion and even conducts organ harvesting.”

Arthur also felt that these works not only depicted suffering, but also showcased the courage of believers. To let more people know the persecution, they took to the streets to tell people the facts, even in the face of danger. One painting shows practitioners posting notices at night, “Light in the Darkness.” Women brought their children with them to distribute leaflets in mailboxes. This unwavering perseverance is precisely the spiritual strength shown in these works.

The World Needs Peace, Love and Courage

Manuel and Marie Cruz from Spain shared their feelings about the art and spirituality that they saw in the artworks. They said these paintings carried important and profound meaning in addition to visual beauty.

The paintings showed that while facing the CCP’s brutal persecution, practitioners remain steadfast in Falun Dafa’s principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance. Marie said the message she saw in the paintings was, “The world needs peace, love and courage.” She said although some works were about death, the spiritual power was strong.

When asked why the paintings resonated so strongly with them, Manuel said the message was profound. “It represents spirit, a spiritual existence that transcends consciousness.” He planned to take a photo with his favorite painting to document this deeply moving experience.

European Artist Sees Hope for Rebirth

Celine Cedric, an European artist, shared his view of the art and spirituality of the artworks. He said this was not just an art exhibition, but a profound display of reality, suffering, and rebirth.

What impressed him most was a painting of a little girl titled: “The Call of Innocence.” “For me, this was the most important painting in the entire exhibition. We see a young child, like a daughter. The painting is closely related to current reality and conveys a beautiful yet extremely sad message.”

He pointed out that this sorrow was not an empty emotion, but an emotional force that directly addressed the realities of the situation. It is precisely for this reason that the painting is so important and moving.

He also mentioned a vertical painting that depicted change and hope. He said he saw hope in it, “A belief that one day, something new, beautiful, and powerful will be born—a force that can liberate people, allowing them to express themselves and live freely.”
