(Minghui.org) Practicing Falun Dafa teaches us to let go of all attachments and desires. We need to change our human mentality, abandon human issues, and rectify our every single thought based on the universal Fa principles so that we can assimilate to Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance. When we complete cultivation, we will be enlightened beings who have obtained the Way.

Whenever I come across hardships, conflicts if interests, or entanglements of emotions, as a genuine cultivator, I will think of what Master has told us. I will behave according to Falun Dafa’s requirements and will not go along with any human notions or anything based on my personal interests.

The national college entrance exams are extremely important to every family in China who has children. When my son was in the final year of high school and facing college entrance exams, one of my relatives said that he could help him move to a school in a poor county so that he could pad his scores on the exams. I declined the offer, because I didn’t want my son to take someone else’s place and hurt that person’s interests.

I said to my relative, “It seems that you would be doing me a favor, but someone might not make the cut due to quotas if my son goes there. In that case, you would have done something bad to another person and thereby incur karma. You think you are doing a good deed, but for someone else, it is a bad deed. So it is best to follow the course of nature.” He agreed that what I said was reasonable. I have many such stories.

In the process of countering the persecution, saving sentient beings, and cultivating myself, I always remember that Master said we should tell people about Falun Dafa and raise awareness of the persecution whenever there is a problem. Master doesn’t acknowledge the persecution. We don’t either. We should act based on what Master said. We don’t acknowledge the persecution or arrangements by the old forces.

Encountering the Police

As I returned home one day, I saw two police officers waiting outside. They said that they were looking for me, so I let them in. Four more officers came later, and I let them in, too. I asked them to sit down. Before they could say anything, I started to tell them the facts about Falun Dafa.

I said, “I know you are here to see me because I practice Falun Gong. I will tell you what Falun Gong is. It is an advanced cultivation practice whose guiding principles are Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance, and it includes five beautiful exercises. Falun Gong can cure illness and keep people fit. It also improves one’s morality and teaches us to to be good. It helps improve a person’s realm so that they can go beyond this physical world.”

One young policeman said, “You are talkative and calm now. Soon you will be terrified.” They then searched my rooms. I stayed calm and didn’t argue with them. I said, “Falun Gong practitioners are good people. You persecute good people. You damage Falun Dafa books. You are doing something very bad and will incur retribution.” Another officer said, “You are talking about retribution again.”

After they finished searching, the young policeman asked my why I wasn’t afraid. I said, “I am a good person. Why should I be afraid? You are persecuting a good person who is walking on the path to Godhood. Aren’t you afraid?” He had no reply, and they all seemed discouraged.

The policemen went for lunch after they escorted me to the station. There was one officer on duty watching me, so I started to tell him about Falun Dafa. He said that Falun Gong competed for popular support against the Chinese Communist Party (CCP).

I said, “That is not true. Falun Gong teaches people to be kind and to be disinterested in the material world. We don’t get involved in politics.” The policeman in charge of my case came back and moved me into a small confinement area. I began to send forth righteous thoughts to eliminate evil elements. I talked to the officer on the night shift, but he just closed his eyes and didn’t say anything. At dawn, I began to shout, “Falun Dafa is good! Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good! Stop persecuting Falun Gong!”

As they dragged me into a police car, I kept shouting “Falun Dafa is good” until we reached the city police department. One officer grabbed my collar, pushed me down, and was going to hit me when I got out of the car. I shouted, “The police are beating me. Please take a video with your mobile phone.” He backed off.

In the city police department, I asked them to investigate the officer who was going to hit me. They just ignored me, so I kept shouting, “Falun Dafa is good, Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good. Falun Dafa is righteous. Stop persecuting Falun Gong. Falun Gong is the only hope for people to be saved. Wake up, people!”

I was taken to the case handling office. Before the clerk could question me, I said, “I am a lady in my 60s. I am a retired judge. You are so rude and disregard the laws. You trample the dignity of the law. You act like bandits. I can imagine how brutal you are when you hear cases involving ordinary citizens.”

He was about to ask for my information, but I didn’t give him the opportunity and continued, “Falun Gong teaches people to be good. Anyone who is against Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is evil. Not a single person would ever say that Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is evil.”

He said, “How do you benefit by saying these things? This is a case handling office.”

I said, “Falun Gong is a righteous Fa. It is saving people. You are persecuting Falun Gong, so you are harming yourself. I am walking on the path to Godhood. What should I fear?”

He said, “You are a judge. I cannot deal with your case. That’s all for today.” Later, he said to another officer, “I have a headache and chest pain. Can I leave now?”

The other officer told him he could go, then stood up and said to me, “Well said. So open and honest.” He showed me where the toilet was. He said again, “You are brave and wise. You are great.”

A prosecutor questioned me. She said, “The police officer said that you …” I interrupted her and said, “Falun Gong is not an evil cult. Falun Gong teaches people to be good and kind.”

She said, “I didn’t say that you were an evil cult. The police officer said that..” She told me to sign a statement. I refused. As she was getting ready to leave, she said, “You are against the CCP.” I told her that I was not against the Party. She got angry and walked away.

The second interrogation was conducted online. They asked me if I admitted guilt and accepted a penalty. I said, “What crime did I commit by practicing Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance? Falun Dafa has five exercises. Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance are the main principles. It improves health, elevates morality, purifies people’s hearts, and is beneficial to society and families without any harm.” The prosecutor who did the recording asked me to talk to the case officer in charge. He was going to go offline. I shouted, “Please don’t get offline. I have something to say to you.” But he turned off his screen.

The third interrogation took place when three prosecutors delivered several documents to me. I felt that they wanted to see what kind of person I was. They didn’t say much to me, but I hoped that I could talk to them, even for five minutes. I would tell them about Falun Dafa and let them know the truth. But it seemed that they didn’t dare to stay long and turned to leave. Near the door, one prosecutor looked back at me. He looked frightened, nervous, and excited, all at the same time. He said to the other two, “Look! Look! What is on her body?” One of the other prosecutors also looked back at me, then all three hustled out of the interrogation room.

During the trial, the judge was very sharp with me. She said, “You are already here and still promoting Falun Gong.” She told me to sign the proof of service. I said, “I will write ‘Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is everlasting.’” She said, “You are still promoting Falun Gong.” She took back the proof of service.

I said, “You admit that Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance are Falun Gong’s principles. I practice Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. You are persecuting Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. What is your legal basis for handling this case? What standards do you live by as a person?”

She said, “You keep promoting Falun Gong over and over again.” She got angry, slammed the door, and left.

At the second trial, the judge was friendly. She said, “You believe in Falun Gong, so you are being held in the detention center.”

I said, “I am being persecuted because I practice Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. I want to awaken people’s consciousness with my determination to uphold my belief so that people will truly know what Falun Dafa is. Falun Dafa is the only hope for people to be saved. We are cultivators who walk on the path to Godhood.

“Cultivation makes life simple and beautiful. I feel calm and relaxed every day. I feel like I am bathed in sunlight every day. We will have a bright future. Zhuan Falun is a wonderful book. When you feel agitated, you will become peaceful and calm even though you read only one page of it.” The judge listened and seemed to understand something. When I was told to sign the proof of service, I said that I would write “Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is everlasting.” The court clerk tried to prevent me. The assistant judge said, “Doesn’t matter. Let her write.” I wrote “Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is everlasting” on the proof of service.

At the third trial, the assistant judge asked me about the CCP-staged Tiananmen self-immolation, so I told her the truth about it. When she notified me to get the verdict, I said, “This verdict violates the law. I don’t accept it. I request that the presiding judge see me.” She said, “I will talk with the presiding judge.” We made an appointment with the presiding judge.

I met the presiding judge as scheduled. She said, “I can help you appeal and apply for a suspended sentence so that you still get a salary.”

I said, “I didn’t come to see you for my salary. It is wrong to sentence me or stop my salary.” She said, “How can you live without a salary?” I said, “I am very healthy. I can support myself even I don’t get my salary.”

She said, “I didn’t expect that you would still be in such good spirits. I won’t worry about you now. So why did you come to see me?” I said, “Please stop persecuting Falun Gong. That will be good for you and for other people.” She thanked me.

I said, “I practice Falun Gong and comply with the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance. I have benefited a lot. Why didn’t you include what I said about how I have benefited from practicing Falun Gong? The verdict is unfair. It violates the law.”

She pointed to the above and said, “You understand me. I won’t comment. I am going to a meeting. Please come again. My assistant is very good. Please contact her if you need any help.” Then she left.

The judge’s assistant came in, sat down, and asked me, “Was the Tiananmen self-immolation true or fake? If it was fake, Falun Gong indeed doesn’t harm society. Is reincarnation real? Is heaven real?” I said, “Yes, heaven is real.” I told her that I wanted to see the court director.

In the final statement to the court, I said, “I always act according to the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance, and I let go of my attachments. I know the meaning of life. I know where human beings come from and where they will go. I am steadfast in my belief. My belief hasn’t harmed anyone or society. How do you conclude that I have obstructed the implementation of the law?

“You are violating freedom of belief and freedom of thought. You are violating Heaven’s law, the Constitution, and the criminal law. Who is disregarding the law? Who is undermining the implementation of the law? Who commits crimes? It is obvious. I believe it is not hard to tell. Heaven and Earth know every thought people have. Good will be rewarded, and evil incurs retribution. I believe Heaven will give each person a fair judgment sooner or later. Let’s wait and see.”

After that, I was released. My family members were happy to see me. They said that I had gained weight and my face looked fairer. I was in good spirits and kinder. No one blamed me. They seemed to welcome back a veteran, triumphant hero. Everyone felt happy. I felt a vast blue sky in my heart.
