(Minghui.org) I reached a major turning point in my life nearly 30 years ago. At that time, my younger sister introduced me to Falun Dafa, a spiritual self-cultivation practice. Since then, I have taken the path of returning to my true self.
All my physical illnesses disappeared soon after I took up the practice, and I felt full of endless energy. An understanding emerged that the experiences I encountered in this lifetime occurred as a result of a karmic process over countless past lives.
The first time I watched videos of Master Li Hongzhi giving lectures about Falun Dafa, I saw a shining golden radiance emitting from his body. It was truly magnificent, and I was deeply touched by what I saw!
After telling my younger sisters about my experience, they all said that they didn’t see anything like that. While lying in bed one night, the “law wheel,” Falun Dafa’s symbol, appeared before me, and was rotating and emitting colorful lights. In another dreamlike state, I felt my body floating upward, passing through countless gates of some kind.
In another dream, I floated upwards lightly, sometimes in a standing position, and sometimes lying flat. I passed by houses, hills, high mountains, and more, to a place very far away. I felt light and free.
I was unlawfully arrested and jailed for refusing to give up practicing Dafa. While in jail, I saw in a dream that I was halfway up a mountain, surrounded by withered, dry grasses, and below me was a deep ravine. I began to climb up the steep slope, with yellow earth and sandy mud under my feet. I used both hands to grip where I could and pushed up with my feet. It was very hard, but I kept climbing upward until I reached the mountaintop.
I stood on a platform and looked down. The path I had just climbed up had turned into a sheer, bottomless abyss, and there was no way for me to get down. All around me stood towering mountain peaks. However, where I was standing, the trees were majestic, the fresh green leaves and lush grassland gave off the breath of a spring day, and I was no longer in a desolate wilderness.
Suddenly, I came to the understanding that the path Master has arranged for Dafa practitioners is the best! We need to continuously let go of all human attachments and notions by pushing through hardships, storms, and tribulations, and walk toward the divine.
My daughter, a Dafa practitioner, manages a hair salon. Sometimes I go there to help out, doing odd jobs.
My daughter always conducts herself by the Falun Dafa principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. She treats every client respectfully and never cuts corners in providing services. Among her clients, there were officials, people in the community of various ages, and sometimes there were also people with some mental health problems. She treats everyone like family, and her clients enjoy going to her shop to chat with her.
I talk to people at the salon about Dafa whenever possible. I once spoke with a client whose understanding was that the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) was good. He was interested in the Book of Changes, so we began a discussion of this ancient Chinese text. Gradually, he began to understand the truth of the principle of cause and effect in our lives. We were then able to discuss some of the principles of Dafa related to this topic.
An elderly woman I was speaking with told me that the CCP was good because it pays people’s salaries. I said to her, “Suppose you earn 10 yuan a day, the CCP pays you 2 yuan, and keeps the rest for the so-called old-age pension. In fact, it’s all our own money. Think about it, the CCP doesn't run factories or farm the land, so where does it get the money to pay your salary? It’s using ordinary people’s tax money to support corrupt officials. If you lose your job, will the CCP pay any of your living expenses?”
The woman responded, “No, it certainly won’t. How much education did you have to have to be able to explain things so clearly?”
The man who said that the CCP is good earlier then commented, “It’s true, we have to pay money at work to be able to get an old-age pension later.” Before he left the salon, I gave him a copy of the book, the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party. Later, he quit the CCP organizations, and never again said that the CCP is good.
A village party secretary came to get a haircut. I had a chat with him, “You are a veteran CCP member who seems to be a very kind person with a sense of justice. The CCP wants people like you to help them persuade others to join their organizations. You work within the system and should know what it is like firsthand.”
The man said, “It always tells lies, practices fraud, neglects its duties, and never does any real work; it’s very corrupt and embezzles public money.”
“You really hit the nail on the head!” I said to him and encouraged him to quit the CCP organizations. He happily quit them all with no hesitation.
After talking with another customer about quitting the CCP, he told me that he had met Dafa practitioners like me in Taiwan. He agreed to quit the CCP’s Youth League and kept thanking me. I told him that he should thank Master Li, so he sincerely said: “Thank you, Master Li.”
There were two high school students whom I didn’t have time to speak with, and I hoped that they would come by the salon again soon. They did come again, and I helped them quit the CCP’s Young Pioneers. They looked at me with big smiles upon leaving. I told them to always remember, “Falun Dafa is good, and Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good.” They both thanked me again and wished me safety and happiness.
Many clients said to me, “Your daughter is so nice, just like you, and you both are just so kindhearted. Some people invited me to visit them at their home, and even offered to provide transportation. I know that these kind words are from their hearts because they have learned the truth about Dafa.
I feel so fortunate to have the chance to practice Falun Dafa in this lifetime. I’m determined to be more diligent in cultivation so I can better assist Master in awakening more people.
