Ten More Cities in Shandong Province Have Escalated the Persecution of Falun Gong Practitioners Since the Beginning of 2026

(Minghui.org) Minghui.org previously reported that at least 24 Falun Gong practitioners in Longkou City, Shandong Province, were harassed or arrested between January 8 and 26, 2026. New information has emerged that ten other cities in the same province also have intensified the persecution of local practitioners since the beginning of January 2026, resulting in several group arrests.

Below are confirmed cases in the ten cities.

Liaocheng City

Beginning in January 2026, the Liaocheng City Police Department has been harassing local practitioners on their blacklist. Many practitioners had their homes raided, including Zhou and Xu (gender and first names unknown). Eight officers from the Liuyuan Police Station raided Zhou’s home on January 9. Xu was targeted by over ten agents from the Liaoda Police Station and the local community office.

Qingdao City

The Qingdao City Police Department has arrested over 20 practitioners since January 2026. Some of them are still held in the local lockup or detention center.

At least eight of the practitioners, including Ms. Xue Sufang, Ms. Meng Huiling, Ms. Ma Liangxiang, Chu, and Du, were arrested by Huangdao Police Station and the Xuejiadao Police Station officers.

Yantai City

Xishan Police Station officers repeatedly harassed Ms. Qu Pei’e, who is in her 70s. Five of them broke into her home around 3 p.m. on January 15 and confiscated her Falun Gong books and other personal belongings. They claimed that someone reported her for raising awareness of the persecution and took her to the police station. She was later released.

In mid-January, officers from the Wuning Police Station broke into 70-year-old Ms. Qiu Xiumei’s home at 2 p.m. They arrested her and her guest, Mr. Zhao Shanle, also a Falun Gong practitioner. The police raided Mr. Zhao’s home as well and confiscated all his Falun Gong books. Ms. Qiu was later released on one-year bail.

At around 2 p.m. on February 2, officers from the Zhengfu Boulevard Police Station broke into the home of 73-year-old Mr. Xu Renxian. They raided his home and took him away.

Jianggezhuang Police Station officers harassed Mr. Li Shihua, around 75, multiple times. After his health declined in custody and he had difficulty speaking, he was released on a one-year bail.

In addition to Ms. Qiu and Mr. Li, several other practitioners are arrested and released on bail, including Cong Rui, Ding, Wu Ning, Sun Liqin, and Wang Keye.

Weifang City

In January 2026, officers from the Nanliu Town Police Station drove to Mr. Lang Xiangang’s shop located in another city to harass him. He asked if he’d broken any law that warranted their harassing him. They said he had not and that they were just there to take some pictures.

The police took pictures of Mr. Du Chonglai’s deli shop and ordered his wife to sign a blank piece of paper. When she refused, they ordered her to pretend to be signing it so they could take a picture of her.

Ms. Yu Dianrong was arrested at her child’s home on February 4 and taken to the Weifang City Detention Center. The arresting officers from the Beihai Road Police Station also raided her own home.

Zibo City

Over 20 practitioners were arrested on January 19 and 20 by agents from the Zichuan District Domestic Security Office and its subordinate police stations. While most were released, four practitioners, surnamed Luo, Yuan, Wang, and Che, remain in a detention center.

Jinan City

Quanfu Police Station officers broke into 77-year-old Ms. Hao Guangju’s home on January 6 and arrested her and her five practitioner-guests, including Mr. Zhao Xianghai, 73, former deputy director of the Licheng District Price Bureau; Mr. Liu Sitang, 82, former engineer at the Jinan Steel Company; Ms. Hao Guangping, in her late 60s; Ms. Pan Juan, in her 70s; and Mr. Hu Hua, in his 70s.

The police confiscated Ms. Hao Guangju’s Falun Gong books and printer. They raided Ms. Hao Guangping’s home, too. The two women are being held in the Jinan City Detention Center.

Ms. Shao (first name unknown), 76, had her home raided around the same time as Ms. Qiu by Huashan Police Station officers. The police seized several Falun Gong books.

At 10:30 p.m. on January 6, five officers broke into the home of Ms. Zhang (first name unknown) and confiscated her Falun Gong books and a portrait of Falun Gong’s founder. She was detained overnight and released the next morning.

On January 7, the Quanfu Police Station raided 65-year-old Mr. Yao Wei’s home and arrested him. He was released hours later. Practitioners Mr. Chen Qiuyu, 55, and Ms. Zhang Hui, 62, were arrested that same afternoon by Dongfeng Police Station officers. Both had their homes raided. They were released on January 22 after 15 days of detention.

Pingyuan County

In early January, the police raided 58-year-old Ms. Min Xiangxian’s home, while she was serving a two-year term in the Shandong Province Women’s Prison. She is set to be released in June 2026.

Around January 10, four officers from the Encheng Police Station broke into Mr. Geng Caizhong’s home and arrested him and his wife, both around 60. The couple were released later that day.

The police harassed Ms. Wang Mingying at home on January 26.

Laizhou City

Ms. Pan Ruiying and her sister, Ms. Pan Ruihua, were arrested on January 26 by officers from the Shahe Town Police Station for talking to people about Falun Gong at a fair.

Zouping City

One practitioner was arrested in late January 2026 after being reported for using yuan bills with Falun Gong messages printed on them to purchase goods. Two other practitioners were arrested at home. The names of all three remain to be investigated.

Zhucheng City

Between January 12 and 16, Ms. Lu Shuxian, Mr. Liu Peizhi, Ms. Qiu Jiaxiu and her daughter, and Ms. Wang Liangliang were arrested.

Ms. Du Chunfang and Ms. Ren Bingyu were arrested around January 21.
