(Minghui.org) Today’s news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 14 cities or counties in 8 provinces, where at least 14 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
Ms. Wang Xiuqin, 83, was arrested on July 14, 2025, for mailing government officials letters about the persecution of Falun Gong. She was admitted to the Fuzhou City Second Detention Center, tried by the Minqing County Court on October 9, 2025, and sentenced to two years and five months in prison some time after that.
Ms. Wan Taoying, a native of Jinxian County, was arrested on August 5, 2025, at her residence in Fuzhou City, Fujian Province. She had previously contacted Mr. Wang Yongjin, a Falun Gong practitioner in Fuzhou, on WeChat to ask for the three cell phones he’d bought for her. She didn’t know that he had been arrested and that the police had confiscated her cell phones. She has been indicted by the Minqing County Procuratorate in Fuzhou and was scheduled to appear in the Minqing County Court on February 2, 2026.
Ms. Ni Rujun was arrested in December 2025 after someone reported her for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. She is being held at the Liaocheng City Detention Center.
Wei Ping, gender unknown, was arrested in late January 2026. His or her home was ransacked.
Mr. Zhao Yongcai, a native of Sulan City, Jilin Province, was arrested in Changzhou City, Jiangsu Province, on August 20, 2025. He was detained for five days.
Ms. Yang Hualian, 72, a retired engineer, was arrested on November 30, 2025, after someone reported her for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. At the police station, officers searched her hand bag and confiscated seven memory cards, several Falun Gong flyers, and a dozen amulets with Falun Gong messages printed on them. They searched her home that afternoon and seized a copy of Zhuan Falun. She is being held in the Deyang City Detention Center.
Mr. Geng Caizhong and his wife, both in their 60s, were arrested at home around January 10, 2026, by officers from the Encheng Police Station. They searched the couple’s place and confiscated three Falun Gong books, three Falun Gong printouts, and an embroidery with Falun Gong messages. The couple was taken to the police station and released the same day.
Ms. Li Yunhua and Ms. Jiang Shujuan were harassed at their respective homes on January 23, 2026. Yulintou Village officials led officers from the Sujiadian Town Police Station to the practitioners’ homes. They took pictures of the practitioners against their will.
Ms. Wu Xiuping was arrested in the end of December 2025 by Deshengmen Police Station officers after someone reported her for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong in Beishan Park. She was released the same day.
Ms. Meng Jing, 88, has been repeatedly harassed in recent years for practicing Falun Gong. The police called her son in mid-December 2025 and ordered him to have his mother sign a statement to renounce Falun Gong. He refused to comply.
Ms. Li Yang and her daughter, Ms. Cui Song, were arrested at their shared home on January 1, 2026. The arresting officers from the Hunnan Police Department ransacked the place and seized a picture of the founder of Falun Gong, Falun Gong books and printouts. The mother and daughter were taken to the Shenyang City First Detention Center the next day. Ms. Cui has since been released, while Ms. Li is still detained.
Ms. Chen Fengxia, 68, was tried in the Shuangqiao District Court on December 16, 2025. The court called her lawyer on January 22, 2026, and said that a second hearing of her case would be scheduled soon.
