(Minghui.org) A Falun Gong practitioner Mei (alias) who was incarcerated at the Liaoning Province Women’s Prison recently recounted the suspicious blood draws she had before and after she was admitted.
In late March 2023, Mei and nearly 100 other detainees (including both Falun Gong practitioners and non-practitioners) were taken to a prison hospital for comprehensive physical exams. The police handed each of them 2-3 test tubes for blood collection.
After everyone was done, the police called back in a young Falun Gong practitioner for another round of blood draws because the doctor said the first round “didn’t go well.”
All the detainees were next driven to the Liaoning Province Women’s Prison and put in the Second Division (for newly admitted detainees).
On the morning of April 3, 2023, all the Falun Gong practitioners held in the Second Division were transferred to the Twelfth Division, also known as the intensive training and correctional area, which was specially designated to persecute Falun Gong practitioners.
Mei said that she and other practitioners were held separately and were subjected to various forms of abuse, including beatings, sleep deprivation, and they were denied restroom use. They were also ordered to write statements to renounce Falun Gong.
In late April or early May 2023, the prison suddenly ordered all detainees in the Twelfth Division to go to the Thirteenth Division, which is the prison’s in-house health clinic, for blood draws. Each of them had two 5-ml tubes of venous blood drawn, and no other tests were performed.
Mei said that they were already given comprehensive physical exams at the outside prison hospital before they were sent to prison. She questioned why the prison had them do another round of blood draws. They were never told the reason for, or the results of the blood draws. They also did not know where the prison sent their specimens.
Given the Chinese Communist Party’s documented organ harvesting from living Falun Gong practitioners, Mei suspected that the blood draws were likely used to build a database to see who might be candidates for the state-sanctioned organ harvesting. She added that the prison attempted to make her and the other practitioners believe that the live organ harvesting was fabricated in order to slander the communist regime.
According to an insider, another practitioner who was released from the Twelfth Division in the second half of 2023 suddenly went missing six months after she returned home. Her whereabouts remain unknown to this day. The insider worried whether she was a victim of organ harvesting.
