(Minghui.org) Today’s news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 10 cities or counties in 5 provinces, where at least 17 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
Mr. Li Zhaohong was arrested on October 29, 2025, by Weifang City Political and Security Division officers. They ransacked his home and confiscated his printers, cell phones, computers, Falun Gong printouts, and other items. He was put into the Weifang City Lockup even though he had a medical condition. His family was not allowed to visit him or apply for bail release for him.
He was interrogated several times. The police submitted his case to the procuratorate, charging him with “undermining law enforcement,” the standard pretext used to criminalize Falun Gong practitioners.
Ms. Song Shuwen, 74, was arrested on February 6, 2026, by Fushun City Domestic Security Division officers for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. The police ransacked her home and seized her computers, printers, a picture of the founder of Falun Gong, and Falun Gong books. She is being held in the Fushun City Detention Center and has been issued a formal arrest warrant.
Ms. Piao Jinzi and Liu Yushun were arrested on February 4, 2026, when they were leaving Ms. Liang Shunyu’s home after studying the Falun Gong teachings together. The police ransacked Ms. Liang’s home. She managed to escape and has since been forced to live away from home to hide from the police.
Ms. Xuan Jinzi was arrested at home on February 6, 2026, and released at midnight. Her cell phone, computer, and Falun Gong books were confiscated.
Ms. Wu Fengxian was arrested on February 7, 2026, by officers from the Yanji City Police Department after surveillance cameras recorded her distributing Falun Gong flyers.
Mr. Wang Yujie, in his 60s, was arrested on January 6, 2026, by officers from the Hunhewan Police Station. He has been detained ever since.
Ms. Tong Xiaoyan and Ms. Wang Renqiu were arrested in September 2025. They have since been held in the Benxi Women’s Detention Center.
Ms. Tong was admitted to the Benxi City Hospital in early February 2026. Her family isn’t allowed to visit her.
Ms. Zhang Zhimei was arrested and put into a lockup on February 3, 2026, after someone reported her for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. The police ransacked her home and seized her Falun Gong books. She was released on February 7 after the police extorted 20,000 yuan from her son.
Ms. Liu Hongying was arrested on February 4, 2026. She was denied admission by the lockup due to a physical condition. She was released the next day.
Officers from the Xiaomenjia Town Police Station ransacked the home of Dengji (nickname) on January 24, 2026. They seized Falun Gong books and printouts.
Mr. Zhang Zhaofu and Ms. Wang Meiling were harassed by Xiaomenjia Town Police Station officers on January 7, 2026.
Ms. Liu, first name unknown, was arrested by Yongchang Police Station officers in mid-January 2026, after someone reported her for distributing Falun Gong flyers. Due to a physical condition, she was denied admission to the detention center.
Ms. Li Shuqin, Ms. Su Nan, and Ms. Li Jingmin went to the Mianyang Science City Political and Legal Affairs Committee on January 27, 2026, demanding that a public poster board defaming Falun Gong be removed. Two staff members called the authorities. The police came and arrested the practitioners. They took them to the police station for interrogation and ransacked Ms. Li Shuqin’s and Ms. Su’s homes. The practitioners’ Falun Gong books and computers were confiscated.
The officers interrogated Ms. Li Shuqin again on February 2 and Ms. Su on February 4.
