(Minghui.org) A practitioner who dedicates himself to clarifying the truth needs only one reason, but a practitioner who doesn’t want to clarify the truth seems to have one hundred excuses.
I recently learned about Ming, a dedicated practitioner who has consistently found time to go out and distribute Falun Dafa informational materials over the past 20 years. I found it quite impressive and touching because his schedule was very demanding. He worked for several years in plumbing and construction. When work was busy, he worked day and night, and when it was slow, he had to help his wife with work around the house. With the little free time he had, he managed to go out a few times a week to distribute Falun Dafa flyers.
In recent years Ming held down an office job. Alhough the hours were more regular, he rarely had a break. Each morning he got up at five to make breakfast, took his child to school before going to work, and picked up his child on his way home. After dinner he would take his child to after-school classes. It was often almost midnight by the time he got home after picking up his child from after-school classes. On top of this, he did most of the chores at home. He was also sometimes called into the office to work overtime.
For years Ming worked tirelessly, to the point that it was hard for him to do the exercises every night, and often he had to make up for it the next morning. Remarkably, he made use of every spare moment—such as while waiting for his child to get off after-school classes, or on his way to and from work—to distribute Falun Dafa flyers. Each week, he managed to hand out about 40 copies.
Such persistent effort is precious because he had so little free time. Grains of sand can be gathered to form a tower. He is completing his Fa-rectification mission, the most sacred work, without any formality or joining certain projects.
Ming’s story tells us one thing, that a practitioner who dedicates himself to clarifying the truth needs only one reason—and that is fulfilling his vows to save people. On the contrary, a practitioner who doesn’t want to clarify the truth has many excuses not to do so. Whatever they may be, he’s breaching his oath.
I have also heard that several practitioners from a local village, in order to seize the time to clarify the truth, went to markets or out of town during the day, and worked on the farms at night. This way they were able to make a living and save people at the same time. For practitioners who are dedicated to saving people, time is never an issue.
Master said:
“When you came to this world you had signed a vow with me, pledging that you would save living beings. And it was on those grounds that you were able to become a Dafa disciple and partake in this. But you haven’t lived up to your word. Think about the consequences if you don’t fulfill your promise and manage to save those countless numbers of lives, that massive group of beings, behind you that were allotted to you! Is that simply a problem of not being diligent in your cultivation? That is an enormous, enormous sin! A tremendously massive sin! Do you think that at that point you will be able to just call out my name and say, “Master, I didn’t cultivate well,” and that will be the end of it? Who would let you off the hook like that? Fen had a dream a few years ago. Master said to her with an incredibly kind expression, “Can’t you do something to clarify the truth and save people?” She couldn’t say no because Master sounded so compassionate. However, after she woke up, she continued to slack off, and this has lasted over ten years. Fen’s reason was that she’d tried to go out and clarify the truth before, but was persecuted as a result. She didn’t want to do anything to risk her safety. “Master is compassionate, and he can arrange for me to save people after the environment improves,” she said. I tried to talk to her some more but she wouldn’t listen.
Clarify the truth and saving people is the mission of Falun Dafa practitioners, and Master has repeatedly reminded us not to let up. He said:
“The intensity of our clarifying the truth should grow only greater and greater, so you mustn’t let up—you absolutely must not.” (“Fa Teaching Given in Manhattan,” Collected Teachings Given Around the World Volume X)
Some practitioners, although still involved in truth clarification, are letting up and doing less. A non-practitioner once asked me, “I haven’t seen you handing out informational materials for a while. Have your people all quit?”
Though many people have quit the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and its affiliated organizations, they may still have limited understandings of Falun Dafa and the persecution. We still need to intensify our efforts in truth clarification to truly save people.
Master told us:
“Exposing the wicked CCP is something that needs to continue for a while into the future, not only now. Even after the persecution is over it won’t be let off the hook. The damage it has done to people’s values goes deep, and not removing those things is not an option.” (“Fa Teaching Given at the 2016 New York Fa Conference,” Collected Fa Teachings, Vol. XIV)
“The next phase will involve the Fa’s rectification of the human world. Yesterday a practitioner asked me a question about some other people who haven’t yet gained the Fa, and I responded by saying that that would be handled during the Fa’s rectification of the human world. What you are doing as Dafa disciples is only to be done during this period that is Fa-rectification, which makes your responsibility as Dafa disciples of this time just enormous.” (“Fa Teaching Given at the 2016 New York Fa Conference,” Collected Fa Teachings, Vol. XIV)
Unfortunately some practitioners are subconsciously waiting and imagining how great it will be after the Fa rectifies the human world.
A practitioner once shared that he saw Master in a dream, wearing a sorrowful, worried expression, and with tears in his eyes. If the mistakes and losses caused by practitioners could be easily remedied after Fa rectification arrives, perhaps Master would not feel such sorrow and worry.
