(Minghui.org) Today’s news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 7 cities or counties in 2 provinces, where at least 17 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Yantai City, Shandong Province] Five Practitioners Arrested

Mr. Gong Yiping, Mr. Cheng Huihua, Ms. Zhang Xueyan, Ms. Wang Xuemei, and Ms. Yu were studying the Falun Gong teachings in Mr. Gong’s home on January 21, 2026, when 10 special agents led by Li Ying, head of the Domestic Security Division of the Yantai City Economic and Technological Development Zone, broke in. They arrested the five practitioners and ransacked their homes.

Ms. Yu was released later that day. The situation of the other four practitioners isn’t clear.

2. [Weihai City, Shandong Province] Ms. He Shuxia Arrested

Ms. He Shuxia was arrested on January 19, 2026.

3. [Zibo City, Shandong Province] Ms. Liu Yufeng Arrested

Ms. Liu Yufeng, 62, was arrested by six police officers on January 20, 2026. They searched her home twice that day.

4. [Qingdao City, Shandong Province] Ms. Yin Huimei Detained

Ms. Yin Huimei, in her 60s, was arrested at home by Taidong Police Station officers on the evening of January 10, 2026. She was taken to the Qingdao City Second Detention Center.

5. [Mengyin City, Shandong Province] Ms. Kan Jixiang Arrested

Ms. Kan Jixiang was arrested on January 21, 2026.

6. [Weihai City, Shandong Province] Mr. Liu Linfeng Detained

Mr. Liu Linfeng was arrested at home by Tianhe Police Station officers on January 5, 2026. His home was ransacked. They confiscated nine Falun Gong books, a photo of Falun Gong’s founder, and bookmarks. Mr. Liu was first taken to the Tianhe Police Station and then transferred to the Weihai City Detention Center.

When Mr. Liu went on a hunger strike in the detention center, the guards force fed him on January 9, 2026. He was released on bail on January 19, 2026, after posting a 5,000-yuan bond.

7. [Linghai City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Zhou Yonglin Taken to ICU After Release from Prison

Mr. Zhou Yonglin was released from Jinzhou Prison on January 20, 2026, after serving a five-year prison sentence. He was emaciated and in critical condition, and his family took him straight to the Linghai City People’s Hospital.

Mr. Zhou is now in a semi-comatose state in the intensive care unit. He is being given oxygen and is catheterized. His arms and legs are bent and won’t straighten, and he’s been given a tracheotomy to allow for a breathing tube.

8. [Laixi City, Shandong Province] Five Practitioners Harassed

Ms. Wang Meixiang, Mr. Wang Shan, Mr. Li Dewei, Ms. Bing Meifang, and Ms. Li Meiling were harassed around January 11, 2026, by officer Wang Haiyang from Rizhuang Town Police Station. Wang photographed them without their permission.

9. [Weihai City, Shandong Province] Ms. Song Wentao Harassed

Ms. Song Wentao was harassed at home on January 20, 2026, by Qin Xiaodong and another officer from the Weihai City Domestic Security Division. They took photos of each room and confiscated several books.
