Longkou, Shandong Province: 24 Harassed or Arrested in January 2026 for Practicing Falun Gong

(Minghui.org) At least 24 Falun Gong practitioners in Longkou City, Shandong Province were harassed or arrested between January 8 and 26, 2026, for their faith. Most had their homes raided, and some had their pictures forcibly taken. A few also had their blood samples, voice, or fingerprints collected against their will.

One Arrested on January 8

Several officers raided Mr. Guo Qingwei’s home on January 8. They confiscated his Falun Gong books, computer, and other valuables. They took him for a physical exam and threatened to detain him for five days. As he was found to be unfit for detention, the police released him at around 11 p.m.

Two Arrested on January 9

Five officers from the Dongjiang Police Station broke into Ms. Ding Chongju’s home at around 10:30 a.m. on January 9. They confiscated her Falun Gong books and portrait of Falun Gong’s founder. They took her to the police station, and forced her son to sign some paperwork before releasing her at 4 p.m.

Mr. Zhang Chonggang was also arrested on the same day and released a few hours later.

Three Harassed on January 12

Officers from the Qijia Town Police Station went to Ms. Xie Guiqin’s home on January 12. Her family condemned the police for harassing law-abiding citizens. They then left.

Ms. Liu Guifang and Ms. Wen Yu were also harassed at home on the same day, by officers from the Shiliang Town Police Station. They took pictures of Ms. Liu against her will.

Eight Harassed or Arrested on January 13

Ms. Yan (first name unknown) was harassed at home on January 13. The police questioned her on whether she was still practicing Falun Gong and called her son to ask about his mother’s situation.

A practitioner (name unknown) had his home raided on the same day. The police confiscated a portrait of Falun Gong’s founder, as well as a wall calendar bearing Falun Gong messages. He was forced to undergo a blood test the next day.

Ms. Han Yuemei was arrested on January 13 and detained for five days.

Mr. Han Fagong and his wife, Ms. Wang Guiqin, were harassed at home by Xinjia Police Station officers on January 13. They confiscated a portrait of Falun Gong’s founder.

Ms. Han Shijun was harassed outside her home on the same day, and she refused to allow the police in.

Five officers from the Xufu Police Station raided the home of Mr. Tian Maoji and his wife, Ms. Yao Cuijuan, on January 13. They confiscated a portrait of Falun Gong’s founder and materials bearing Falun Gong messages, including magazines, table calendars, wall calendars, and New Year decorations. The police forced the couple to report to them the next day and collected their voice and fingerprints. The couple’s son condemned the police for harassing his elderly parents, and the police responded that it was their job.

One Couple Harassed on January 14

Two officers from the Xufu Police Station broke into the home of Mr. Ma Keqin and his wife, Ms. Yu Zhaomei, on January 14. They questioned the couple if they were still practicing Falun Gong. The couple’s four-year-old grandson was terrified and cried.

Four Couples Harassed on January 26

Officer Yang Zuguang from the Haidaibianfang Police Station called Ms. Yu Xiaomei on January 26 and demanded to have a meeting with her. She asked him who directed him to harass her and he replied, “The Chinese Communist Party!” She refused to comply.

An officer surnamed Zhong called Ms. Yu’s husband, Mr. Ren Tao, demanding to come and take his picture. He refused. Both he and his wife had been harassed multiple times in 2025, and the police took their pictures without their knowledge.

Officers from the Xiadingjia Police Station broke into the home of Mr. Yu Xiliu and his wife, Ms. Chen Shuhong. They threatened the couple to “not go out [to talk to people about Falun Gong].”

Mr. Jiang Xunliang and his wife, Ms. Tang Ping, were harassed at home by Longgang Police Station officers.

Another married couple was also harassed at home and had their pictures forcibly taken.
