(Minghui.org) I attended Master Li’s lectures in April 1994, and I’m now 71 years old. His voice, smile, and appearance are still vivid.
I sat in the front row when I attended Master’s lecture. He was peaceful and compassionate, and explained things in simple terms. He told us the purpose of one’s life was to return to one's original, true self. The more I listened, the more I wanted to hear. I felt Falun Dafa was what I was looking for.
I couldn’t express my joy when I started practicing Dafa. The more I read Zhuan Falun, the more I enjoyed reading it. I read two or three lectures, and sometimes five, every day. When I woke up in the middle of the night, I read Zhuan Falun. I felt bathed in Buddha’s light. When I encountered issues, I did things according to what I learned from the Fa. I experienced many rapid breakthroughs in my cultivation. I dreamed that I took an elevator that shot straight up to the sky.
On July 20, 1999, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) launched the persecution of Falun Dafa. Lies and propaganda were broadcast on the radio and TV to deceive people. My heart felt very heavy. To refute these lies, I decided to go to Beijing to appeal to the government.
A relative who also practices, and I went to Beijing in September 1999. On our way to Tiananmen Square, a person suddenly darted out from behind a tree and asked if we practiced Dafa. If we said yes, then we’d have to follow him. If we said no, then we had to swear at Master. When we didn’t answer, we were taken to the Beijing Liaison Office. We returned home two days later.
Through studying the Fa and discussing what happened with other practitioners, I understood that it was a test: Did we regard ourselves as practitioners, and have faith in Master and Dafa? When faced with persecution, could we safeguard Master and Dafa? This was a test that we needed to pass. Whether we could let go of life and death shows if practitioners are truly walking the path to divinity.
Master said,
“In the several years of your cultivation, I have not only borne an incredibly great deal for you, but also constantly given you hints for your improvement, looked after your safety, and settled the debts that you owed at different levels so that you could achieve Consummation. These aren’t things that just anyone can do, nor can they be done for ordinary people.” (“Drive Out Interference,” The Essentials of Diligent Progress II)
Tears streamed down my face when I studied the Fa one evening. Master is so compassionate and wonderful, and he endured so much for us, I had no way to repay him. But the CCP cannot tolerate such immense kindness and boundless compassion. They spouted lies, and distorted the truth to slander Master and Dafa.
In my heart, I told Master, “No matter how rampant the evil becomes, no matter how many difficulties I have to face, I must speak up and tell people: ‘Falun Dafa is wonderful!’”
Two practitioners and I brought a banner and boarded the train to Beijing on December 7, 2000. After a long journey, we arrived at Tiananmen Square, where plainclothes police were everywhere, and security was tight. We saw an opportunity to unfurl our banner and shouted: “Falun Dafa is wonderful!” We were immediately surrounded, crammed into a van, and taken to the Tiananmen Square Police Station. We were taken to the Qinghe Police Station that evening and interrogated all night. We didn’t have anything to eat or drink for five days. I felt it was a battle between good and evil; a struggle between righteousness and wickedness. With Master’s compassionate protection, I safely returned home.
Soon after, the CCP orchestrated the self-immolation hoax on Tiananmen Square. We began to distribute informational materials in large quantities to refute the lies and propaganda the CCP was spreading. I later bought a computer and printer, and left them at a practitioner’s home. We went to her home to make materials on Sundays. I also learned how to make Shen Yun DVDs, informational materials, and brochures. The path of my helping Master save sentient beings became wider and wider.
I realized that when our thoughts were pure and we had no distractions, we achieved better results. Otherwise, we invited interference.
While I clarify the facts face-to-face, I talk to whoever I meet. One time, when I was waiting for the lights to change to cross the road, I talked to the traffic police about Dafa. When they agreed to quit the CCP, the lights changed.
I met an elderly couple at a hospital. I talked to the lady, and she told me she was 74 years old, and her husband had leukemia. The government gave each of them 160 yuan a month for living expenses. Sometimes she husked corn to earn some money; otherwise, she wouldn’t be able to survive, let alone afford medical treatment. The recent checkup cost more than 10,000 yuan, which their son paid.
I said, “Life is not easy. Falun Dafa teaches people to follow Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance to be good. By sincerely reciting the auspicious phrases ‘Falun Dafa is good! Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good! Many people have had their illnesses resolved. Falun Dafa is so wonderful, but the Party doesn’t allow people to practice. Moreover, it persecutes good people. Do you think people can still have a good life? The CCP is doing too many bad things now. Heaven will destroy it. If you joined the Party or its affiliates, hurry up and quit them to ensure your safety.”
She agreed. I then talked to her husband, who looked helpless. I understood why he felt that way. I asked him which CCP organizations he joined, and he told me the Youth League and the Young Pioneers. I said, “You joined them and swore to fight for them your entire life. If Heaven eliminates the CCP, you’ll perish with it. Please withdraw from these organizations, and you’ll no longer be under the Party’s control. By sincerely reciting the phrases, ‘Falun Dafa is good, Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good,’ one can escape danger. The more sincere you are, the more effective your efforts will be. You’ll recover from your illnesses without spending a penny.” I saw hope in his eyes.
He said excitedly, “I’ll quit.”
I met a woman who said, “I used to be very healthy, and I could do anything. But after I got the COVID vaccine, I’m always tired, and I have no energy.”
I responded, “Isn’t that a vaccine side effect? There are also lung nodules, vertigo, leukemia, and various cysts. Now this pandemic is returning, but instead of calling it COVID, it’s called H1N1.”
She said, “It’s true. It’s terrible. Seven people in our village died in just over a month.” I talked to her and said that Dafa came to save people. I said, “If one recites the auspicious phrases, one will be blessed by Heaven. The Party harms people. After it took power, it used all kinds of political movements to persecute 80 million Chinese people to death. Please quickly renounce your memberships from the Party to ensure safety.” She happily agreed to quit.
I chatted with a woman who said she was born in the Year of the Horse. I replied, “Me too, we’re about the same age.” When she told me that she was 60, I said, “Then you’re younger than me. I’m 12 years older than you.”
The woman’s husband came over and asked, “Who’s older?” I said I was 12 years older. He responded, “You look younger than her. Look at your complexion, it’s so nice and look how healthy you are!”
I smiled and said, “I practice Falun Dafa, which teaches people to follow Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance to be good. We don’t fight with or take advantage of others. No matter how much loss we suffer, we don’t take it to heart. We are considerate of others when we do things, and we look inward when we run into conflicts. Thus, more and more people began to take up this practice. Jiang Zemin [former CCP leader] couldn’t stand it, so out of jealousy, he launched this persecution. What’s said on TV is all lies. This is a historic injustice. The persecution of Dafa is a heinous crime. Heaven will eliminate the CCP. Whoever joined its organizations will be implicated and is in danger.”
I asked them, “If you joined the Party, Youth League, and Young Pioneers, please quickly renounce your memberships with them to ensure your safety. In addition, by sincerely reciting the auspicious phrases, one will be blessed by Heaven.”
They kept nodding and agreed to quit the CCP.
There have been so many touching stories. I’ve only written down a few here.
We should seize these last moments to do the three things well, and help Master save more people. Snap out of humanness, walk toward godhood, so Master will be assured and less concerned about us. This way, we will live up to the title: “Fa-Rectification Period Dafa Practitioners.”
