Jilin Woman Confirmed to Have Been Arrested for Practicing Falun Gong

March 20, 2026 |   By a Minghui correspondent in Jilin Province, China

(Minghui.org) Minghui.org previously reported that a woman in Jilin City, Jilin Province, has been missing since January 23, 2026. It’s now confirmed that Ms. Liu Xingrong has indeed been arrested for practicing Falun Gong and is now held at the Jilin City Detention Center.

As Ms. Liu is denied visits with her family, they still don’t know the details of her case.

Ms. Liu, 67, was previously arrested at home on the night of November 19, 2021, after a security guard reported her for distributing Falun Gong materials in his apartment complex. The police identified her using facial recognition technology and raided her home.

Ms. Liu was held in the police station overnight and taken to a local detention center the next day. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, she was denied admission. The police released her on bail and ordered her to report to them every Monday.

To avoid persecution, Ms. Liu went into hiding, only to be arrested again in early 2026.

In addition to the latest persecution episode, Ms. Liu served a three-year prison term between 2015 and 2018 for distributing Falun Gong materials. She endured relentless torture and faced frequent harassment after she was released.

See the related reports for details of Ms. Liu’s past persecution.
