(Minghui.org) Two men in Jieyang City, Guangdong Province, are facing indictment because they practice Falun Gong, a spiritual discipline that has been persecuted by the Chinese Communist Party since July 1999.
Mr. Wu Jiaxin, 54, and Mr. Huang Guiquan, in his 70s, who both work at a factory in Jiedong District, Jieyang City, were arrested at work on the afternoon of February 25, 2026.
The arresting officers from the Yujiao Police Station and the domestic security offices in Jiexi County (which is under the jurisdiction of Jieyang City) and Jiedong District, took Mr. Wu straight to the Jiexi County Detention Center. He was issued a formal arrest warrant one month later and was transferred to the Jiedong District Detention Center.
Mr. Huang was first taken home after he was arrested. The police raided his home and then took him to the Jiedong District Detention Center.
The two practitioners’ cases now rest with a local procuratorate (the name is not known). This is not the first time they have been targeted for their faith.
Mr. Huang previously served a forced labor term and a three-year prison term.
Mr. Wu was still on the wanted list when he was most recently arrested. Officers from the Hepo Town Police Station broke into his home on May 13, 2024. He was not there, and they put him on the wanted list, even though they found no Falun Gong materials at his home.
To avoid persecution, Mr. Wu went into hiding. He later landed a job at the factory that Mr. Huang worked at. During the Chinese New Year holiday in 2026, Mr. Wu returned home to reunite with his family. Since nothing happened, he thought the police may have stopped looking for him. He thus returned to the factory on February 25, 2026, the day when it reopened after the holiday, only to be arrested together with Mr. Huang.
