(Minghui.org) I was saddened and shocked when I heard that Falun Dafa is being slandered by certain media outlets in the Western world. It’s heartbreaking to think that some people in civilized societies, who are unaware of the truth, are misled by the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) propaganda. It’s disturbing that the evil CCP, which has persecuted countless people in China, is now extending its claws to the West via biased media reports.
I began practicing Falun Dafa in 1998, and I’d like to share some of the experiences my family members and I have had to show how amazing Falun Dafa is.
I have three sisters. One of their husbands and my father began to practice Falun Dafa in 1998.
My father was in his 70s. Due to pain in his leg, he could only take a few steps at a time before he had to rest. It was difficult for him to walk. Doctors couldn’t figure out what caused the pain. After he began practicing Dafa, he became very healthy and his leg no longer hurt.
Most elderly people are afraid of falling. When my father was in his 90s, although he fell many times, he was only bruised. He passed away so peacefully when he was 94 years old that my son said it looked as though his grandpa had just fallen asleep. All the villagers knew he was blessed by Dafa.
My oldest brother-in-law had tuberculosis and a herniated disc before he began practicing, so he couldn’t do heavy work. After he began practicing, he abided by Master Li’s requirements. He constantly improved his character, and he never needed to go to the hospital. By doing the exercises and cultivating his xinxing, his health improved.
My sister had atrophic gastritis before she began practicing Falun Dafa. She always frowned, had difficulty eating, and only slept for about two hours a night. After she began practicing, her daughter said, “Now she sleeps like a child and falls asleep as soon as she lays down.”
Even though she’s in her 70s, she does farm work and takes on odd jobs. She climbs trees—something the other workers aren’t willing to do given their ages—but she and her sister have no trouble doing it. Employers compete to hire them because she and her sister are honest and hardworking.
My sister worshiped at temples before she practiced Falun Dafa. Unfortunately, she became possessed and sometimes couldn’t control herself. When she began practicing Dafa, Master eliminated those evil spirits.
My wife was in poor health. In the winter she wrapped pads around her knees to protect them and she wore warm slippers. Through her family’s experiences, she saw how miraculous Falun Dafa was, and she began practicing in 2010.
My wife’s sister-in-law had surgery for esophageal cancer. As she returned to her ward, she shouted the auspicious phrases, “Falun Dafa is good, Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good!” Because the persecution in China was rampant at that time, the doctors, nurses, and other patients were surprised. That was nine years ago, and she is now healthy.
My sister’s neighbor hadn’t been able to eat for over a month. She feared that she had esophageal cancer but didn’t dare tell her family, so she asked my sister for advice. My sister suggested she recite the auspicious phrases. She was very sincere and recited the phrases for an hour every night. A month later, she told my sister that she felt good and she wanted to practice Dafa. She shared this story with others and told them how wonderful Falun Dafa was.
All the lights in our stairwells and basement passageways in our building were on one meter. Originally, this was the company’s responsibility, but after the company went bankrupt, the residents had to take over. Because no one was managing the building, the motion-activated switches on most of the floors were broken, so the lights were on all day. Each household was supposed to 10 yuan per month to pay for the lights and their upkeep. Most of the residents thought that was too expensive and refused to pay. Without power, however, the building entrance couldn’t be locked, which was unsafe and extremely inconvenient.
My wife and I replaced all the switches from the basement to the top floor with new motion-activated switches, as well as the light bulbs with five-watt energy-saving bulbs and the main circuit breaker. After prepaying a 50-yuan set-up fee, the power was on. Several homeowners came to us to offer to share the cost, but we declined, telling them that we did it voluntarily. After a year, some of the homeowners got together and called on everyone to pitch in. Now, each household pays 10 yuan, which covers two years. When the switches or light bulbs stop working, we replace them at our own expense.
My second sister fell from a high ladder while working in an orchard. Her employer offered to take her to a hospital, but she declined. When her employer visited, he brought her gifts, which she refused to accept. Another person from the village who worked for the same employer suffered a similar injury and ended up in the hospital. She claimed lost wages to the tune of several thousand yuan. My sister’s refusal to accept any compensation really moved her employer. He said, “People who practice Falun Dafa have consideration for others. They are different from most people.”
My sister noticed some money laying on the ground, picked it up, and counted over 2,000 yuan. She looked for the owner. and found him. He was very touched and sent her a gift to thank her, but my sister wouldn’t accept it. After she told him about Falun Dafa, he asked to borrow a copy of Zhuan Falun.
My students’ parents tried to bribe me with money and gifts, but I always kindly refused to accept whatever they tried to give me. Despite the rampant corruption in China, practitioners are honest and kind.
People’s moral standards are very low these days. They’re doing well if they can finish their own work, but they don’t help their coworkers. Practitioners hold themselves to Master’s requirements, so they are kind and help others.
I never cared about my own gains and losses, and management noticed. At a school-wide town hall meeting, they announced that I would teach the school’s top-performing class for the college entrance exam.
Teaching a top-performing class is a huge responsibility, and I was under a lot of pressure. I gave no thought to compensation, worked overtime, and dedicated myself to helping my students. Their scores on the college entrance exam were remarkable, and more of my students were admitted to top-tier universities than in any other group.
One colleague asked me for my lesson plans, and after I copied them for him, he asked me to organize them by class period and date into a format that he could submit directly. Since we don’t teach the same grade, I had to reorganize each one. It was like: “I prepared the food and now I have to put it in your mouth.” Although I was a little unhappy, I thought that, since he asked, he must have his reasons. Shouldn’t we, as practitioners, be considerate of others? So I put aside my displeasure and quietly did it for him. Some of my colleagues thought it was unfair and criticized him, but I said, “He’s been busy lately.”
Even when practitioners face life-threatening situations, with their faith in Master and Dafa, they can overcome tribulations.
My middle sister slipped and fell while she was shoveling snow off her roof two years ago. She lost consciousness and couldn’t move when she came to. Her nephew wanted her to go to the hospital, but she refused. She said, “I’m a practitioner. I’m fine.” Three weeks later, she was fine.
I was driving my wife on my motorcycle to her sister’s house. Because the road was being repaired, we were unsure of the route. The steep mountain road was paved with gravel. Near the top, my motorcycle chain suddenly came off and I lost control. The motorcycle started sliding downhill with both of us on it. Just as I was at a loss, my wife shouted, “Master!” It immediately stopped sliding and a crisis was averted.
Despite all its efforts, the CCP cannot eliminate Falun Dafa. Because former CCP leader Jiang Zemin was jealous of Master Li’s popularity, beginning in July 1999, Jiang tried to get rid of Dafa in China by mobilizing the full force of the nation. The CCP’s evil deeds in its campaign of persecution of the practice are now too numerous to count. However, the beauty of Dafa has been deeply rooted in the soul of every practitioner. This is why, for the past over 20 years, practitioners have risked their lives to spread the truth and beauty of Dafa. They are also an example of how to escape calamity and choose a bright future.
For the past few decades, practitioners have never given up. To help people escape calamity and have a bright future, they have given them informational materials for free—despite the risk of being arrested, sent to detention centers and forced labor camps, tortured, and even having their organs harvested. Practitioners have kind hearts to be able to endure and explain the facts while being persecuted.
Many Chinese don’t understand the kind actions of practitioners. Jesus could have easily avoided being tortured and the pain of crucifixion, so why didn’t he? Christians know that he bore the sins of all humanity so that they could be saved. Falun Dafa practitioners can avoid being tortured and having their organs harvested if they just say they don’t practice. They would be free from being harassed and persecuted. However, they know how good Falun Dafa is and they are concerned about people and their futures.
The CCP is using the same persecution tactics in the West that it uses in China—it finds a few people who are willing to lie for it, and it uses certain media outlets to help by spreading these false accusations.
