(Minghui.org) In advance of World Falun Dafa Day, May 13, federal, provincial, and municipal officials in Canada issued proclamations and congratulatory letters to celebrate this special occasion. In addition to acknowledging Falun Dafa’s positive impact and the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, these elected officials commended practitioners for their perseverance in facing the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) persecution in China, as well as the CCP’s transnational repression overseas. Mayor of North Bay, Peter Chirico wrote in his proclamation,

“WHEREAS: Falun Dafa, also known as Falun Gong, is a peaceful self-improvement practice rooted in ancient Chinese culture and centers around the universal principles of Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance and consists of five gentle exercises, including meditation; and

“WHEREAS: Falun Dafa was first introduced by Master Li Hong Zhi in 1992, and has demonstrated a steadfast commitment to improve health in mind, body and spirit, and to enhance the well-being of people from all walks of society, who follow the tenets; and

“WHEREAS: Transcending culture and racial boundaries, Falun Dafa has touched the lives of more than 100 million people in over 110 countries, more men and women in Canada are learning the practice and purifying their hearts, energizing their bodies, and striving to create more peaceful communities; and

“WHEREAS: Under grave adversity, the great compassion and forbearance demonstrated by Falun Dafa practitioners have touched the hearts of kind-hearted people all over the world; and
