(Minghui.org) Zhang Jiannan, the director of Civil Affairs for the Chiayi City Government, made a speech on behalf of the mayor of Chiayi during the Falun Dafa Day celebration on May 3, 2026. He praised practitioners, and said, “Thank you Falun Dafa for spreading the power of kindness to Chiayi City and to the world, and letting people rediscover their innate kindness, and passing on this positive message.”

Falun Dafa practitioners from Yunlin, Chiayi and Tainan gathered in Chiayi’s central square to celebrate the 27th anniversary of World Falun Dafa Day and the 34th anniversary of Falun Dafa’s introduction to the world. Some government officials from Chiayi participated in the event. The celebration attracted many people and tourists who learned about Falun Dafa.

The Tian Guo Marching Band opened the celebration by playing the song “Falun Dafa Is Good.” Practitioners demonstrated the Falun Dafa exercises and presented cultural performances to celebrate the special day. Many people said they enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere.

Chiayi City Councilor: Thanks to Falun Dafa for a Positive Contribution to Society

Local officials and elected representatives attended the event to celebrate with practitioners and show their support. The speaker and deputy speaker of the Chiayi City Council, along with legislators and ten councilors, sent gifts to convey their congratulations.

City Councilor: Falun Dafa Conveys Kindness

Councilor Wang made a speech to celebrate this special day, and said, “May 13 is Master Li’s birthday and also World Falun Dafa Day.” He praised the event as very meaningful. “It invites people to learn Falun Dafa and the truth about [the persecution of] Falun Dafa. This is a very important day.”

Chiayi City Councilor Fu Dawei made a speech and praised Falun Dafa for spreading Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance to society.

Chiayi City Councilor Fu Dawei praised the media founded by Falun Dafa practitioners for its positive influence on society. He said, “It directs people’s hearts to return to the realm of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance and to kindness, and lets kindness grow brighter and warmer and light up every corner of society. Falun Dafa practitioners do everything from the point of kindness. I believe that such kindness is the most beautiful thing in this world.”

Chen Zhikai, a candidate for Chiayi City Councilor, called for everyone to support Falun Dafa.

People Learn the Falun Dafa Exercises

The practitioners demonstrated the Falun Dafa exercises, and offered vocal and dance performances. Some people learned the exercises during the event. Practitioners from National Chung Cheng University and National Cheng Kung University gave out flyers about Falun Dafa and the persecution in China. They also distributed a magazine published by Minghui Publishing House to introduce Falun Dafa.

The organizer coordinated with the Chiayi City Police Department and developed an interesting computer game which combined moral values and following the law so that children could discern good and bad by playing the game. Many children happily took colorful balloons with the words “The world needs Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance.”

Wu Jianwei, a Falun Dafa representative from the local Falun Dafa association, said that Master Li Hongzhi, the founder of Falun Dafa, has brought huge changes to the millions of Falun Dafa practitioners who improved their health and elevated their character by practicing Falun Dafa. Millions of Falun Dafa practitioners have been firm in their belief in the past 27 years despite the persecution. He said that this was an extraordinary journey that people witnessed.

He said that Falun Dafa practitioners celebrated World Falun Day by holding a community fair. They wish to spread the goodness of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance to every person, and hope that more people will benefit from Falun Dafa, to improve their health and character.
