(Minghui.org) In 2023, my husband, a woman from our village, and I were traveling in a vehicle towards a construction site about six miles away from home. The driver, a young man, may have become distracted playing music, and he suddenly struck the curb. The car tire instantly went flat, and the vehicle flipped over four times before plunging into a ditch more than 20 meters deep. We were thrown out of the car. The vehicle became a mangled shell after snapping a thick tree trunk in the process. Miraculously, my husband was completely unharmed, though the rest of us all lost consciousness. My husband checked up on us and found that we were still breathing.
My husband practices Falun Dafa. At that time, he had just been released from prison after enduring three years of persecution by the Chinese Communist Party. Since we had no money, he had joined me in working to earn an income.
My husband climbed out of the ditch to call for help. One car passed by without stopping. When another car finally came, he threw himself in front of the car to stop it. It turned out it was one of his old classmates, who said, “What on earth are you doing?”
When the classmate realized what had happened, he brought us to the construction site contractor, who then drove us to the hospital. Unbeknownst to us, the contractor secretly bribed the doctor, and they colluded to falsify the diagnosis and deceive us. After taking the X-rays, the doctor claimed it was nothing serious—just a small lumbar spine fracture. Despite being hospitalized for a week, I was still unable to move.
My husband is a practitioner. He said, “The doctor said you will be fine after about three months. We need to be considerate of others and should not keep letting the supervisor pay for our medical bills.” Seeing my husband’s kindness and pure heart, I endured the pain and went home with him.
My husband carried me on his back into the house and gently laid me down on the bed. My mother-in-law exclaimed, “You should have at least waited until she showed some signs of improvement before bringing her home!” My husband said, “Let’s listen to Master’s teachings.” I agreed.
After listening to Master’s Fa teachings for about 10 days, I was able to venture out onto the street with a walking stick. I overheard that the construction project was nearing completion, with only six or seven days of work remaining. The contractor would soon be leaving. I thought, “Once he is gone, I won’t be able to track him down again. Maybe I should just go back to the hospital for another check-up for some peace of mind.” When the X-ray results came back, the doctor informed me that three of my lumbar vertebrae had been fractured and two of my ribs were broken. He then added that I was also pregnant.
We were filled with mixed emotions. We were overjoyed because we were finally pregnant after thirteen years of marriage. But we were worried because the contractor had deceived us.
After returning home, my husband shared with the contractor the truth about Dafa. “As practitioners, our priority is to think of others first, treat everyone with kindness, and avoid causing trouble for anyone. We uphold the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance. If this accident had happened to someone else, the outcome for you could have been very different. Not only might they have demanded a big settlement, but the injured person might still be hospitalized, unable to leave.” The contractor understood that Dafa practitioners are good people. Knowing the truth, he felt a deep sense of remorse.
After almost 50 days, I had fully recovered. We didn’t extort a single penny from the contractor because Master teaches us to be good people. We followed the Fa teachings and achieved a wonderful outcome.
We now have three children, two sons and a daughter. We deeply understand that these children were all bestowed upon us by Master. Our family life is currently flourishing. Our entire family of disciples is deeply grateful to Master. “Falun Dafa is good. Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance is good.”
