(Minghui.org) In recent years, due to heightened political tensions across the Taiwan Strait, the once-familiar crowds of mainland Chinese tourists flocking to Taiwan have vanished.
However, the influx of exchange students coming to Taiwan, as well as cultural, academic, and religious exchanges, and the arrival of mainlanders on business—such as attending trade shows, conferences, or training sessions—continues unabated.
Since September 1, 2023, Taiwan resumed allowing mainland Chinese residing or studying in a third country (outside of mainland China, Hong Kong, or Macau) to visit Taiwan as tourists. There are also mainland spouses already living here, along with their family members who have joined them.
These are all Chinese people I have recently encountered while clarifying the truth at tourist sites across Taiwan. They are waiting for us to connect with them to awaken these predestined individuals’ deep, long-held aspirations so that they can by saved by Dafa.
It is worth noting that most Chinese currently visiting scenic spots are independent travelers rather than organized tour groups. In terms of appearance, attire, and demeanor, they closely resemble Taiwanese people, making them difficult to distinguish.
Yet, whenever I offer informational materials and say, “Hello! Have you ever heard of Falun Gong?” it turns out that, almost without exception, they are from the mainland. In those moments, my heart is truly filled with deep emotion—I realize that Master has brought these predestined people right to my doorstep and leaves no one behind!
The following are just a few examples of my recent efforts to clarify the truth to people from China at scenic sites.
A young Chinese businessman visiting Taiwan said that, while he was on a business trip to Germany, he had once seen a large-scale Dafa event, but this was the first time he had actually spoken to practitioners and heard the facts firsthand.
When the conversation turned to the facts regarding the Chinese Communist Party's (CCP) persecution of Dafa, he became visibly emotional, yet his expression also conveyed a sense of firm resolve as he declared: “Yes! Not a single one of my friends believes in the CCP—not a single one!”
I continued, “So you need to withdraw from every Party organization you ever joined right away. Don’t let yourself be dragged down with the Party and suffer the consequences.” When I explained why, he said that he certainly didn’t want to harbor any communist influences—not even in his cells.
But he wondered how could he withdraw if he wasn’t a person of faith. After I explained what he could do, he solemnly placed his hand over his heart, looked up at the sky, then closed his eyes tightly, and murmured to himself. Then he said, “I hereby withdraw from the Young Pioneers and the Youth League. My alias is …” I said, “Congratulations! Today you have been reborn!”
The young man’s sincere and solemn demeanor as he resigned deeply moved all of us fellow practitioners present.
I asked an elderly man passing by it he had heard of Falun Gong, and he replied, “Of course, and I fully support you all.”
It turned out that he had emigrated to Canada nearly 40 years ago and remained overseas after becoming completely disillusioned with the CCP after the 1989 pro-democracy movement, even though several of his older brothers were high-ranking provincial officials.
He had just returned to China to take care of a brother’s funeral arrangements and then came to Taiwan to take his mind off things. He said his brothers had all chosen to “rather be ghosts of the Communist Party” and follow the CCP to the very end, and now they had all met with tragic fates.
He sighed, “Although they were my brothers, and I feel sad and distressed, I must say that they all deserved their fate. The difference between them and me is that I am a human being—I still have a conscience!”
During our conversation, I learned that he had signed a declaration to withdraw from the Youth League 20 years ago after reading the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party but wasn’t aware he had to withdraw from all the Party organizations.
I told him, “It is because you are so kindhearted that the gods and Buddhas have guided you here to withdraw from the Young Pioneers, too, so that your precious life will not be tainted by the evil Party.” H agreed to use his real name to quit and said, “Once I’m a little less busy, I’ll learn to practice Falun Gong.”
A group of four people passing by a scenic spot appeared to be lost, so I asked if they needed any assistance. Sure enough, they had indeed lost their way. The person who responded had lived in Taiwan for years, but she was originally from mainland China, as was her husband. The other family members in the group were visiting Taiwan.
I said, “Welcome to Taiwan! Take a moment to experience the atmosphere of freedom here.” I then described the magnificent scope of Dafa’s spread around the world, including the numerous commendations received from various sectors of society, as well as the resolutions of support passed by government officials in many countries. I added, “If Falun Gong were truly as the Chinese Communist Party claims, why would people in over a hundred countries and regions still be practicing it? The simple reason is that Falun Gong is truly good!”
The wife looked completely surprised and said, “I’ve never heard any of this—I didn’t know about it at all!” She then asked for copies of all the informational materials and put them in her bag. I went on to explain why one should complete the Three Withdrawals and how to do it.
Her husband chimed in, saying, “In Taiwan, nobody makes people take oaths or pledge their lives to anything—that is an unacceptable!”
I replied, “That’s exactly why you need to withdraw!” Her husband also encouraged her to withdraw and gave her an alias to quit the Young Pioneers. She thanked me repeatedly and said, “If I have any questions, I’ll come back and ask you.”
When a middle-aged man rushing by waved away the brochure I was offering, I asked, “Have you heard of Falun Gong?” He stopped and smiled, saying he knew all about it, because his father was a ranking provincial official in China. Because of this connection, he was well aware of the CCP’s evil nature and the brutality of the persecution.
When he turned 18, he had moved to the United States to study and work and was in Taiwan on a business trip. He then asked several questions about Falun Gong that he did not fully understand (even though he read media outlets established by Dafa practitioners on a regular basis), such as the accuracy of the number of people who had quit the Party, whether Falun Gong is a religion, and the differences between Falun Gong and traditional Buddhism.
I asked if he could spare a little time so that I could explain the significance and deeper meaning of the Three Withdrawals and contrast this with the CCP’s history of mass killing. After he heard me out, he stopped insisting that “oaths made by children under the age of 18 lack legal validity and therefore do not count” and quit the CCP.
I then said, “After all this time we’ve been talking, you’ve only just agreed to quit the Party. This is such a crucial matter for your future—and yet the number of people who’ve withdrawn has only increased by one. Is there any need to falsify the withdrawal figures?” He smiled and agreed, “Those figures are accurate!”
After this, his demeanor and attitude underwent a significant change. He mentioned that he had been searching for a faith and wondered why, given the many differences among the world’s religions, these disagreements could not be resolved and put to rest.
I explained that the fact that Falun Gong is embraced all over the world today is by no means a coincidence—“people of all ethnicities and social classes, men and women, young and old are practicing it. Why is that?
“Despite the CCP’s brutal persecution, Falun Gong practitioners in China have remained steadfast and refuse to give up. Why? Don’t you think these questions are worth exploring? Falun Gong might just be the answer you’ve been seeking all along.”
He paused for a moment, then asked for a copy of Zhuan Falun, adding that, although he had a very busy schedule, he would definitely finish reading Zhuan Falun as soon as possible.
Throughout the many years of clarifying the truth, I have constantly felt Master’s immense compassion for the people of the world. My gratitude to Master is boundless. Thank you, Master!
