(Minghui.org) Practitioners worldwide held events to commemorate the April 25 Appeal, including Japanese practitioners who peacefully protested in front of the Chinese Consulates and Chinese Embassies in Japan. They called for an end to the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) persecution of Falun Dafa.

On April 25, 2026, Falun Dafa practitioners from the Kumamoto Region and Nagasaki held events to commemorate the 27th anniversary of the April 25 appeal in front of the Chinese Consulates in Fukuoka and Nagasaki. They called on people to pay attention to the egregious human rights violations that target Falun Dafa practitioners in China and called for this persecution to end. The event attracted many people’s attention, and they stopped and talked with practitioners.

During the events, practitioners read statements in both Japanese and Chinese, and told the public about the persecution. They called for international society to help put a stop to the CCP’s suppressive and violent treatment of Falun Dafa and practitioners.

Twenty-seven years ago, on April 25, 1999, more than 10,000 Falun Dafa practitioners gathered near the State Council’s Nation Appeals Office near Zhongnanhai, the CCP’s central compound, in Beijing. They appealed to the CCP to release the 45 Falun Dafa practitioners who were arrested in Tianjin. They held no banners, nor did they chant slogans. They just waited quietly for the government’s reply, and the whole process was orderly, rational and peaceful. Afterwards, media outlets called the event “the largest-scale, most rational, and most peaceful petition in the history of Chinese petitioning,” and it attracted widespread attention from the international community.

Many felt the appeal was a display of righteousness. However, after 27 years, the CCP’s persecution of Falun Dafa continues. Many practitioners are illegally detained in China and are in danger of losing their lives.

The end of the statement read during the events said: “We also call upon people from all walks of life—including those in power in China, various organizations, and the international community—to make the right choice in the face of this unprecedented human catastrophe, disintegrate the CCP and end the persecution, as you will be laying the foundation for a wonderful future for you and your family, and your country.”

Ms. You was six months old when her parents brought her to events to expose the persecution. For the 20 years since then, she has joined events to tell people about the persecution, including those in front of the Chinese Consulate.

She said, “I have grown up surround by Dafa. I’ve always felt Master’s benevolent protection, and I am filled with gratitude. I will cultivate diligently. I also hope to help more people learn how wonderful Falun Dafa is and expose the CCP’s 27-year-long persecution in order to help end it.
