(Minghui.org) I started to practice Falun Dafa (also called Falun Gong) in 1998, and I am now in my 70s. I have been through many tribulations during my 20 years of cultivation. But with Master Li Hongzhi’s protection, I have been able to continue along my cultivation path. Whenever I encounter tribulations, and feel helpless and confused, it is Dafa that opens up my heart, and points me in the right direction. Whenever I face danger, it is Master who helps me turn it into safety.
When telling people the facts of Falun Dafa, we often encounter those who have been deeply influenced by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). When they hear about the CCP’s persecution of Falun Dafa and quitting the CCP and its affiliated organizations, they become furious right away and threaten to report us to the police, or chase us away.
To better communicate with people, we usually go out in pairs. Those who are illiterate are paired with those who are literate, and the young are paired with the elderly. One young practitioner was talking with a man his age about Falun Dafa and how to quit the CCP. This young man became enraged, and began shouting. The elderly practitioner approached the young man, patted his shoulder saying, “Don’t raise your voice. This is for your own good.” The elderly practitioner’s words were kind, yet dignified. Hearing that, the young man calmed down. He later learned the truth about Dafa from the elderly practitioner, and was delighted to quit the Party. This elderly practitioner always wore a kind smile, allowing others to feel his warmth and compassion.
We often share our understandings, and learn from the experiences of other practitioners. For instance, when we encounter people who threaten or curse at us, we do not walk away as we may have previously done. Instead, we become more determined to let this person learn the truth about Dafa so he or she can be saved. We once went to the countryside to tell people about Dafa, and when we gathered together to leave, a police vehicle arrived. We then realized that we had been reported.
The director of the police station and another officer told us to get into the vehicle, but we refused. The director said, “We must take you to the station because you were reported.” Usually, in this situation, the police are aggressive and force us to go to the police station. But this director said in a kind voice, “Please cooperate with us. Don’t make trouble for us. We will let you go once we leave this village.”
After we got into the car, we started to tell him about Dafa. When the car left the village, the director stopped the car and let us go home. We were very happy that this director understood that Dafa was good, and we were also grateful for his kindness. We wished him and his family many blessings.
In the early stages of clarifying the truth, we avoided the police. But now, we approach and engage with them. During our conversations, we show respect and kindness. With the wisdom gained in Falun Dafa cultivation, we slowly get to the point, telling others that Dafa is good and assisting them in quitting the CCP and its affiliated organizations. The result has been quite good.
I was busy preparing the Chinese New Year’s meal one year, and while I was cooking in the kitchen, several police officers broke into my home. Before I could even open my mouth, they claimed that I had been reported for distributing informational materials about Falun Dafa. When I asked whether they had any evidence, they said, “We can’t tell you. You must come with us to the police department right now.” I refused to go.
They took Master’s portrait, a copy of Minghui Weekly, and some other belongings from my home. Without a word of explanation, they dragged me into the police vehicle and took me to the Domestic Security Division of the Police Department. The head of this division asked me, “Where do the Falun Dafa materials come from?” I told him I didn’t know anything, and questioned him, “You claim I distributed materials, but when and where did I do that?” They did not provide any evidence, so I refused to answer any further questions.
My nephew’s wife then showed up and said, “You go ahead and tell them that you don’t practice Falun Gong anymore. We can then go home right away.”
I replied calmly, “You can go home. You cannot manage my issues. I will not write or promise anything. Please go home.” My nephew’s wife was upset and left in a huff.
A female officer came to watch me during a lunch break. The moment I saw her, strong compassion swelled in my heart. I asked her with a smile on my face, “How old are you?” She was over 30. I said, “You look very kind.” She told me that I did too. I took this opportunity to clarify the truth, and said, “You’re right. I strive to be a good person by following the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance.” She advised me not to practice since the government forbade people from practicing Falun Dafa. I explained to her earnestly and from my heart, “Jiang Zemin started to persecute Falun Gong due to jealousy. But this practice is really good, and it has miraculous effects in improving health.” I noticed she was listening attentively. I continued, “We met today due to a predestined relationship. Now, many people are quitting the CCP and its affiliated organizations to ensure their safety in the future. If you want to quit, you will have a good future.” She agreed to quit the CCP, and thanked me. I replied, “You should thank my master. He wants us to help save people.”
She left after chatting with me. Then another female officer came in. I knew she came in to learn about Dafa as well. I asked her age. She told me that she was over 50, and would retire in two years. I asked whether she had heard about quitting the CCP. She shook her head. I smiled, and said, “You are a CCP member, right?” She admitted she was. I urged her to quit the Party, and explained the reason why. I said, “When you took the oath to join the CCP, it left a mark on you. Only by denouncing it sincerely can this mark be removed. Then the divine will protect you when you encounter disasters, and you will have good health too. How good is this!” She nodded and agreed to quit the Party. Another life was saved and I thanked Master sincerely in my heart.
In the afternoon, this female officer left, and the deputy head of the Domestic Security Division arrived. He was my neighbor. I said to him sincerely, “Please do not persecute Falun Gong. It is the Buddha Fa and a righteous practice. Anyone who has participated in the persecution will be punished. We have been neighbors for years. I tell you this truly for your own good. Many people are quitting the CCP. Why don’t you quit too? You will avoid future disasters, isn’t that good?” He replied readily, “Sure.”
I looked out the window while thinking, “I should go home now. This is not the place I should stay. Master, please help me go home.” Soon, my husband came, and we walked out of the police department together.
This is a family story that happened 20 years ago. The wife of my youngest son was pregnant at the time, and our whole family was happy about the good news. One day, she said she did not feel well and went to the hospital. The doctor told her that she had chickenpox. “You cannot have this baby, since the child will be disabled. You have to abort this child.” The doctor’s words were like a bolt from the blue. My daughter-in-law kept crying, and the whole family was distressed.
I went out every day seeking advice from experts in Western and Chinese medicine, but they all said the child could not be saved. What should I do? As a Falun Dafa practitioner, I should ask Master for help. I said in my heart, “Master, I am in a tribulation. Abortion will not only harm my daughter-in-law’s health, but it also involves killing. Master, please help me. If it is my debt from previous lives, I will pay for it.” I told my son and daughter-in-law, “We should keep this child. If the child is disabled, I will take care of the child. You can have other children in the future as well.” Upon hearing my words, my daughter-in-law was relieved, and no longer stressed.
On the second day of the following year’s lantern festival, my daughter-in-law gave birth to a healthy baby. My grandson is now a sunny, handsome, tall college student. He is very supportive of my practice. Our whole family is very grateful to Master!
