(Minghui.org) Today’s news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 4 cities or counties in 1 provinces, where at least 5 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
Mr. Qiao Chenglin was scheduled to stand trial at the Zhangqiu District Court on May 18, 2026.
Ms. Wang Shouhao, 72, has had her pension and all other retirement benefits suspended since 2015, which totals over 400,000 yuan. She is also under long-term residential surveillance. The police often check on her to see whether she is at home.
Ms. Wang’s daughter once confined her at home for four years and didn’t allow her to go out or contact any local practitioners. Even when Ms. Wang’s sister came to visit, Ms. Wang was not allowed to let her in; she could only talk to her sister through the door. Soon after, the police harassed Ms. Wang’s sister, after seeing her visit Ms. Wang on a surveillance camera.
Ms. Gu Xiuying, 91, was arrested in October 2024 for distributing desk calendars with information about Falun Gong. Due to health reasons, she was released on a two-year bail condition. The police contacted Ms. Gu’s son in early May 2026 and, without her knowledge, forced him to write a statement in her name renouncing Falun Gong.
Ms. Deng Shuqin was arrested by Dongcheng Police Station officers on April 5, 2026, for distributing information materials about Falun Gong. The police had started to monitor her since February 2026. She was held at the Liangshui Town Lockup for 15 days and has been released.
Ms. Lyu Youzhi still remains under residential surveillance.
