(Minghui.org) A woman from Linyi City, Shandong Province, serving four years for her faith in Falun Gong has been denied basic human rights since October 2025 because she refuses to give up her faith.
Ms. Feng Guichun, in her 30s, used to work for the Linyi City Central Blood Bank. She was arrested on August 24, 2023, and sentenced to four years on May 30, 2024. Her appeal was denied on September 30, and she was admitted to the Shandong Province Women’s Prison on October 17, 2024.
In August 2025, Ms. Feng submitted a motion to the prison authorities to reconsider her wrongful conviction. Instead of forwarding her motion to relevant agencies as required by law, the prison put her in solitary confinement for one week. They also abused her in other ways, resulting in her losing weight and ending up in poor health. See the first related report for details of how the prison retaliated against her as of September 2025.
The rest of the report covers the prison’s continued abuse of Ms. Feng since October 2025, when she was also completely barred from calling or writing her family.
Ms. Feng’s family visited her on November 19, 2025. She said that she was housed with five other inmates in cell 204 of the Eleventh Division. As soon as she added that the six of them had to take turns doing night duty, guard Zhang (badge number 3705471) stopped her speaking. While Zhang soon allowed her to talk again, he kept interrupting her.
Her family noted that she looked pale and was emaciated. She said she was only given fried beans to eat every day. Her family used to be allowed to deposit 100 yuan in her commissary account during holidays but now could only send in 50 yuan, which was barely enough to purchase anything.
They asked Zhang why Ms. Feng was not even allowed to purchase cooked eggs from the prison’s convenience store. Zhang said that was because she had “violated prison rules” by refusing to write thought reports or attend education sessions.
During another visit on January 28, 2026, Ms. Feng’s family learned that she’d been escorted to the visitation room from her noon-nap duty, meaning she had to stay awake while other inmates were allowed to take a nap. The “red card” (usually reserved for inmates deemed disobedient) that was always on her was put away so her family would not see it. She said the guards still did not let her purchase any additional food. The only thing she could get was daily necessities.
The guards also told the family that they were no longer allowed to deposit any money into her commissary account because she had “lost points.” Her family suspects it was due to her refusing to sign statements to renounce Falun Gong.
When Ms. Feng’s family visited her on February 24, 2026, she wept and implored them to stop mailing the prison anything concerning her motion to reconsider her wrongful conviction. They assured her that it was her constitutional right to file a motion. Her mother, whom she entrusted to seek justice for her, received a letter from the Lanshan District Domestic Security Office accusing her of promoting Falun Gong in the name of filing a motion on behalf of Ms. Feng.
Ms. Feng lost even more points and was denied outdoor recess, her family learned during a visit on March 26, 2026. Because she was still not allowed to purchase extra food, she was malnourished and three of her teeth had become loose. Over ten more teeth had loosened by the next family visit (April 22, 2026). This time, they saw the “red card” on her. They asked if she was still forced to sit still on a small stool for long hours. She didn’t answer but made eye contact with them to signal yes.
Ms. Feng’s family is worried about her safety, especially given the multiple deaths of Falun Gong practitioners in the Shandong Province Women’s Prison since warden Li Yanqun assumed the position in October 2023.
