(Minghui.org) Today’s news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 9 cities or counties in 6 provinces, where at least 13 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
Mr. Fu Guoqi, Ms. Li Xian’e, Ms. Xiong Guiju, and Li Xiao (gender unknown), were arrested at home on May 11, 2026, by officers from the Beigang Police Station and the Hongshan District Police Department. The practitioners were interrogated at the Beigang Police Station until 3 a.m. Ms. Xiong was released due to health issues. The other three practitioners were placed under a 10-day detention.
Ms. Zhao Xiuye was arrested at home on December 21, 2025. She was released on bail the next day after the Yantai City Detention Center denied her admission due to health reasons. The police informed her on May 11, 2026, that her case had been submitted to the Laizhou City Procuratorate.
Ms. Wang Xiuying, 61, was sentenced to four years in prison and fined 5,000 yuan by the Yuhong District Court on August 24, 2023. She was taken to Liaoning Province Second Women’s Prison at the end of 2023.
Because Ms. Wang refused to give up practicing Falun Gong, she has been denied visits with her family and phone calls. She is also being tortured regularly by the guards and inmates.
Ms. Tao Mingzhen, 68, was arrested at Nanyang Market on May 9, 2026.
Mr. Chen Xiaodong and Yang Li (gender unknown) were arrested by Angezhuang Police Station officers on the evening of January 31, 2026, for distributing informational materials about Falun Gong. They were held in a detention center and released on bail around March 3, 2026.
Mr. Chen’s case has been filed with the Luannan County Procuratorate. He might be tried in the Luannan County Court.
Huang Xiaokui was arrested in mid-March 2026 and is being held in the Tianhe District Detention Center.
Mr. Teng Weiqiang was stopped by three officers from the Xingguang Community Office on April 28, 2026, and was ordered to sign the statements to renounce Falun Gong. When he insisted that they show him the legal basis for the request, one of them said that it was “an order from the government.” They threatened to report him to the Kuancheng District Political and Legal Affairs Committee if he didn’t sign.
Ms. Wu Jiajian was released on May 7, 2026, after serving a six-year term for posting information about Falun Gong online.
Ms. Zhao Hongyan was released on May 6, 2026, after serving a three-year term.
