(Minghui.org) Today’s news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 11 cities or counties in 4 provinces, where at least 20 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
Ms. Chen Suyuan was arrested by officers from Shuangshan Police Station on January 20, 2026, while talking to people about Falun Gong. She was held in Anshan City First Women’s Detention Center. The Lishan District Procuratorate indicted her on April 2, and she was scheduled to appear in the Lishan District Court on April 22.
Ms. Jing Chenying and Mr. Zhang Zhijie were arrested at their respective homes on March 9, 2026. Their families hired lawyers for them. Both practitioners have been issued formal arrest warrants. Ms. Jing is being held at the Yantai City Detention Center, and Mr. Zhang at Laizhou City Detention Center.
Mr. Li Guozhong was arrested by Guoyuan Police Station officers on April 17, 2026. The officers ransacked his home and confiscated Falun Gong books.
Ms. Cao Yixiang was harassed several times in recent months by agents of Jinjialing Street 610 Office. Three people knocked on her door on March 31, and April 15, 2026, demanding that she sign a statement to renounce Falun Gong. They threatened that if she refused, it would adversely impact her son’s current job and future prospects, and her grandson would be barred from attending college, taking the civil service exam, or joining the military. Ms. Cao didn’t give in.
Mr. Zhang Baohua, his wife, Ms. Zhang Jiamin, and their daughter-in-law Ms. Wang Xiaodan, were arrested on December 3, 2025, by Jizhou District Police Department officers. They were released on bail on January 9, 2026. After that, Tang Cheng, an officer from Baodi District Domestic Security Division, called the practitioners three times, demanding to know where they were.
Around 8 p.m. on April 11, 2026, Ms. Wang and Ms. Zhang were tricked into opening the door by two police officers posing as delivery workers. Once inside their shared apartment, the two men identified themselves as officers from the Jingwu Police Station. One of them was wearing a body camera. They claimed that they were looking for a suspect whose last name was “Bai” and whose first name contained the word “Hong.” They asked Ms. Wang for her national ID number. Moments later, they started saying the suspect’s last name was Wan.
Prior to the incident, a local community worker had already called Ms. Wang’s husband to inquire about information related to their rental apartment.
Mr. Zhu Guangjun’s family learned from the lawyer on April 15, 2026, that he had been sentenced to 14 months in prison with a 3,000-yuan fine. His term would end on November 13, 2026.
Mr. Zhu was arrested by officers from Shunyi District Domestic Security Division and Dasungezhuang Police Station on September 14, 2025. His home was ransacked. He was tried by the Shunyi District Court on March 16, 2026.
Ms. Wei Liping was arrested by Wutaizi Police Station officers on March 8, 2026, while distributing Falun Gong materials. The police ransacked her home, and did not find any Falun Gong materials. Her lawyer visited her at the Yingkou City Detention Center on April 15, 2026. She appeared to be in good spirits.
Officers from Qingzhou City Domestic Security Office and Economic Development Zone Police Station forced their way into Mr. Chen Hengzhong’s home on November 7, 2025, attempting to arrest him. He was not home. They arrested his non-practitioner wife, Ms. Chen Yurong, and confiscated a meditation mat. She was released that evening.
The police returned a few more times to harass Mr. Chen. When they couldn’t find him, they instructed the village Party secretary of Xi’anchen Village to have villagers monitor Mr. Chen.
Officers from Development Zone Police Station showed up at Mr. Chen’s home again on April 13, 2026. They tricked Ms. Chen into opening the door, by claiming they were returning items previously confiscated from the family. Upon entering, they arrested Ms. Chen and took her to the Qingzhou Lockup for five days.
Mr. Liu Linfeng was arrested on April 14, 2026, while distributing Falun Gong materials. Officers from Tianhe Police Station ransacked his home and confiscated a computer and a printer. He has been detained since.
Several Falun Gong practitioners, including Ms. Yi Quanxue, 84, Ms. Jin Lianzhen, in her 80s, Yunyun (nickname), Mr. Pei Yuhe, Ms. Yang Shuping, and Ms. Han Xiutao, were harassed in April 2026, either at home or over the phone. They attempted, unsuccessfully, to force the practitioners to stop practicing Falun Gong.
Officers of the Jiutai District Police Department recently installed surveillance cameras near Ms. Li Jianying’s home, disrupting her daily life.
Ms. Mu Shuqin was arrested by officers from Guoyuan Police Station at the Songxuexinzhuang Farmers Market on April 16, 2026. She was taken to Tangshan City First Detention Center, and was released hours later after being denied admission due to health reasons.
