Japan: People Appreciate Falun Dafa at Kanazawa Hyakumangoku Festival

June 13, 2026 |   By a Minghui correspondent in Kanazawa City, Japan

(Minghui.org) Falun Dafa practitioners participated in the Kanazawa Hyakumangoku Festival held in Kanazawa City, Ishikawa Prefecture, Japan, on June 6, 2026. It is the largest traditional festival held annually in Kanazawa. Parades, traditional performances, and historical character reenactments showcase Kanazawa’s history and culture and attract thousands of residents and tourists.

Dressed in bright yellow shirts and white skirts, many of the practitioners danced in the festival’s highly anticipated Hyakumangoku Dance Parade. They carried banners with information about Falun Dafa and Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. Their elegant movements pleased the spectators, and many people said they agreed with Falun Dafa’s principles. The festival organizers introduced Falun Dafa to the audience as a “traditional Chinese qigong practice that purifies body and mind.”

Ms. Stephanie from Mexico said the practitioners’ performance was one of the most impressive she saw that day. She said, “It is precisely Truthfulness, and Compassion that make people kinder and more warm toward one another. I really like these values.”

Ms. Dini from Indonesia saw the parade with her family. She enjoyed the practitioners’ graceful dancing and said, “Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance are values we should learn and practice. Honesty is very important for families and children.”

After Mr. Kirill from Russia learned that Falun Dafa is based on Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance, he said, “These three principles are necessary for the world to function well. Without compassion, there would be wars; without forbearance, things would become very bad.”

Mr. Tran Van Quy from Vietnam (Minghui.org)

Mr. Tran Van Quy from Vietnam said his wife, who is a practitioner, was in the parade. He agreed with Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance and said, “Even when others do something wrong, whether one can still treat them with kindness requires forbearance.”

Mr. Abdullah Jobayer from Bangladesh said as he watched the practitioners pass by, “They look very relaxed, yet very attentive. I feel very happy.” About Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance, he said, “Honesty is a good quality that everyone should have. I believe we should all practice kindness, and forbearance is also necessary.”

Ms. Luisa from Germany (Minghui.org)

Ms. Luisa from Germany said, “I think the values of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance are very good. Truthfulness and Compassion are values commonly shared among all people. I want to bring such values back to my country. This is really wonderful.”

Tourists from Australia, India, Israel, and other countries said that Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance are universal and beautiful values that have positive significance for individuals and society.

Group Doing the Exercises in the Park Attracts People to Learn the Facts

On the morning of the festival, practitioners did the exercises in Ishikawa Fourth High School Memorial Park in Kanazawa City. The peaceful scene attracted many to stop and watch.

When she learned that practitioners are persecuted for their belief and even face the danger of the CCP’s state-sanctioned forced organ harvesting, Ms. Vanessa from Spain said, “Forced organ harvesting is a horrible act. I hope practitioners can fight for their rights and that they will no longer suffer persecution.”

After hearing about the persecution, Mr. Deguchi said that people should help each other and that the government should not harm innocent people just to maintain power. He encouraged practitioners to continue telling the facts and gave them his best wishes.

The principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance resonated with people. After learning about Falun Dafa, many expressed support for practitioners’ peaceful resistance to the persecution and hoped they would soon have freedom of belief.
