(Minghui.org) Sweden celebrated its National Day on June 6, 2026. Falun Dafa practitioners held events from June 5 to 7 in front of the Nobel Museum in Stockholm to raise awareness about the spiritual practice.

Many visitors came to learn more, voice support, and sign the petition to end the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) persecution of Falun Gong. Among them were some Chinese tourists who learned about the practice and the human rights abuses by the CCP.

Since National Day takes place in summertime, locals enjoy spending time outdoors and in nature with their families. The scenic Swedish capital and other towns host large celebrations and various cultural events, and many museums open for free. People also dress in festive attire, and hold up the Swedish flag while celebrating the holiday together.

Falun Gong practitioners demonstrated the exercises on the small busy square in front of the Nobel Museum, drawing passersby to their serene atmosphere amidst the hustle and bustle. People accepted flyers, read the display boards, and many signed the petition to oppose the persecution. Some were interested in the exercises, and learned the movements from practitioners.

American Tourists Praise Falun Gong’s Principles

Tourists Lewis and his parents, who are over 70 years old, were appalled after reading the display boards. All three of them signed the petition calling for an end to the persecution. Lewis also video-recorded the event, and spoke with a practitioner for a long time. When he learned that the U.S. House of Representatives passed the Falun Gong Protection Act, he kept nodding, and said, “The United States made such a big decision last year, and we didn’t even know about it. It shows how important the work you are doing here is. Of course we support this!”

Lewis was moved when he learned about the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance. He said, “These three words are wonderful. As for Forbearance, both my father and I have not been doing well with this. We lose our temper easily in our daily lives. Now I know what to do going forward.”

He hoped to change by following the principles, and thanked practitioners for the information they shared. “I didn’t expect to come here from America with over 200 years of history, and be able to hear about China’s traditional culture of 5,000 years. We’re very lucky. I want to learn this ancient practice from China.”

His father nodded in approval, and said, “Yes, that’s true. Today, our entire family learned and will remember these principles. We will all follow them when we go back. We will also learn Falun Gong. Thank you all!”

German Couple Commends Practitioners

A couple from Germany learned about the CCP’s persecution and state-sanctioned forced organ harvesting. The husband mentioned a friend who is a high-ranking official in Germany: “When my friend went to China for business, he met some people there. Then when he moved house back in Germany, someone gave him a painting. He was very happy about it at the time.

“Later when he moved again, he inadvertently discovered that a listening device had been installed on the back of the painting! So he was under the surveillance of the CCP.”

The couple said they support Falun Gong in opposing the persecution, and would help to spread the message. “What you [Falun Gong practitioners] are doing today is outstanding and admirable. People will forever remember you.”

Croatian Tourists Delighted to Learn About Falun Dafa

“Wow! This is great!” a couple from Croatia exclaimed, while holding up a Falun Gong flyer written in Croatian. “We didn’t realize there are people practicing Falun Gong in such a small country like ours!” The signed the petition and took a flyer in their own language.

A practitioner explained that Falun Dafa is an advanced cultivation practice that was introduced to the public by Mr. Li Hongzhi in May 1992. Cultivators are guided by the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance to improve their moral character and health. It has spread to over 100 countries, and the main text Zhuan Falun has been translated into more than 50 languages. The practice has earned over 10,000 awards, as well as receiving many proclamations, and honorary letters. After hearing this, the couple was interested in learning the practice.

Chinese Tourists Learn About Falun Gong

On the afternoon of June 6, a number of tourists from China stopped at the event. One middle-aged man stood in front of the display boards and said, “What evidence do you have for these things you are saying? To me it looks like you’re making money out of it.”

A practitioner shared his own experience of restored health after practicing Falun Gong, and also talked about the Tiananmen Square self-immolation hoax, and the state-sanctioned forced organ harvesting.

The practitioner added that people can download the book Zhuan Falun from the Falun Dafa website for free. He pointed out that the CCP burns Dafa books and does not want Chinese people to read Zhuan Falun due to fear of losing ideological control. There is absolutely no legal basis for the CCP to persecute kind, innocent people who follow the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance.

Gradually, the man went from being resistant to eventually understanding the facts. With the practitioner’s help, he accessed the The Epoch Times website to quit the CCP and announce his withdrawal from the Youth League and Young Pioneers. He also took a photo of the withdrawal certificate number and saved it on his phone. He left happily and said goodbye to the practitioner.

Two women from China also looked at the display boards, and were clearly confused by CCP propaganda. A practitioner answered their various questions, and explained in detail the facts about the persecution, including how the staged self-immolation was meant to frame and defame Falun Gong. The two women listened quietly, and before leaving they took a booklet and a copy of Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party.
