(Minghui.org) Shen Yun Performing Arts was scheduled to perform in Toronto in April, but was canceled by the theater due to Chinese Communist Party (CCP) agents’ bomb threats. Shen Yun will return to the Four Seasons Centre for the Performing Arts in Toronto at the end of June, 2026. Members of Parliament James Bezan, and Kyle Seeback sent letters to congratulate Shen Yun and to welcome the rescheduled performances.
James Bezan MP wrote, “Please accept my heartfelt congratulations on the successful rescheduling of your performance following the unfortunate disruptions caused by recent bomb threats. The challenges you faced were undoubtedly difficult, yet your ability to continue your performances despite such obstacles demonstrates remarkable courage and commitment.
“Through music and dance, Shen Yun brings to life enduring values such as truthfulness, compassion, and forbearance-principles that resonate deeply with Canadians and reflect the foundations of our free and democratic society.”
Mr. Bezan wrote, “Since 1999, practitioners of Falun Dafa have been subject to cruel and inhumane attacks and experienced many atrocities at the hands of the Chinese communist government. This includes the deliberate targeting of the Falun Dafa for state-sponsored organ harvesting. These brutal crimes must be stopped now, the victims never forgotten and those responsible for this disgusting atrocity must be brought to justice.
“Canada has important tools to respond to gross human rights violations. The Justice for Victims of Corrupt Foreign Officials Act (Sergei Magnitsky Law) enables targeted sanctions against foreign officials responsible for serious abuses, including those involved in the persecution of Falun Dafa practitioners. Continued and principled use of this legislation is essential to ensure accountability. I also recognize the importance of legislative efforts such as my Bill C-219, which seeks to strengthen Canada's sanctions [against] regimes. Measures like these reflect Canada's commitment to defending human dignity and standing firmly against exploitation and abuse.”
